We did a 3-day tour from Marrakech to the Erg Chebbi Desert. This was an excellent choice! 'Go Sahara Day Tours' has a good service. Our guide Othman was very nice and enthousiastic en also a good and save driver. We saw a lot of beautiful places and had a great experience. Highly recommended!

We took a fabulous private tour of the Moroccan Desert with Go Sahara Day Tours. A bit more expensive than others, but the service was very good. We had an excellent driver/guide named Othman Kalloufi, who was helpful in every way. He went out of his way to give us all the time we needed to stop and see whatever we wanted or to take photographs.
The area in Morocco is certainly worth a visit, while there is still something to see. Unfortunately, many of the Kasbahs (made out of mud, much similar to the American adobe structures) are melting away year after year from the winter rains. So my suggestion to would-be travelers is to go as soon as you can. The lifestyle is still very primitive by modern standards, but this is what makes the whole tour so interesting.
As far as the service we received: the car was very comfortable, the hotels were fantastic (espcially Riad Dar Sofian in Zagora ...a dream!) and the whole experience was very positive.

We did 2 day trips from Marrakech with this company- we were on a bit of a budget but wanted to see more of Morocco than just the city.

Atlas Mountains to Ait Ben Haddou-
Not necessarily for the faint hearted- the mini bus driven at some speed round blind corners on the Tizi n Tichka pass, sometimes while the driver was answering his mobile. If you're a nervous passenger or afraid of heights, you probably won't enjoy the route. The pass itself reveals some stunning scenery through the mountains, with a few stops for photographs.
When the website stated that prices did not include a guide, I was pleased- I didn't want a guide at Ait Ben Haddou, prefering to explore on my own (as suggested by other reviews).
What I was NOT expecting was to get out of the mini van at the site and be fobbed off onto a guide who didn't even speak English (and this had obviously been pre-arranged between the 'guide' and driver). As 5/7 of us that made up the group were english speaking, we understood very little. He obviously took us through the entrance where we had to pay the gang of loitering locals, plus his fee for marching us around the place as quickly as possible on top of this, ending his 'tour' by directing us into a restaurant no-one had chosen. So, not too impressed by this part of our tour- but the mountains were good to see.

Essaouria
-This trip didn't even seem to be organised by Go Sahara- it seemed to be a (large) group of people gathered from various companies and directed to the same bus. Usual toursity stops on route- it was a relief to get the town and be left alone to explore for a few hours. If you're wondering whether to visit Essaouria- go. We loved it and is a refreshing, relaxed change from hectic Marrakech. But perhaps look into another option of getting there if you don't want to stop at every roadside cafe/shop or co-operative to get there.

If you're looking at getting around and are on a budget- this company pretty much suited our purpose. But it could be better- just be aware of the hidden extras you may incur along the way.

We went on the desert trip for two days and one night in the desert, it was amazing! So much fun, we had a good group and had a real laugh. There was a lot of travelling in the mini bus but it wasn't a problem. The camp we stayed in at the desert was awesome. Really comfty and the meal was lovely. Also loved the camel ride, got the most amazing photos!
