It was fantastic. There are such wonderful things to be bought and brilliant bargains to be had! Even if you are not planning to buy anything I would still recommend a a visit for the experience.

Went round most of the souks in the small streets of Marrakesh..be prepared to haggle for a good price... The spice markets are amazing. The artefacts for sale are in abundance..some are pricey! so bartering is a good thing...

The souks were awash with beautiful colours and wares to sell..the spice market was fantastic and we bought many grams to take home with us..Be prepared to haggle..They will charge you a lot more than the items are worth...

If you’ve never been to any of the major markets like Istanbul, Jerusalem, etc. then you are going to enjoy it. But if you’ve been to these places its a little underwhelming and you will see many of the same wares. There are a few treasures to be had though. Be ready to haggle and ignore the people telling you that you are going the wrong way. It’s just a tactic. Also don’t be afraid to firm with you "no's" and keep walking if you aren’t interested. One thing I always wonder when going to a market is whether or not the items are really hand made. Here you can get the shoe vendors to actually make shoes specifically for you if you want to mix and match elements. You just need to give them enough time to do so.

We Were pleasantly surprised with the amount of pestering and hassle we encountered compared to our visit to the bazaars of Cairo and Egypt in general. When walking around the Souk and city with and without a guide all approaches were gentle and a no thanks was enough to break the contact although if you wanted to buy something the staff were very polite and patient. The leather goods, bags, footwear, etc were excellent quality and value if you took the time search and barter We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would not hesitate to return.
