“A fantastic experience”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We just returned from a six day visit to Morocco. Only six and would have enjoyed one or two more days. The souk and medina in Marrakech was a real delight. Time warp? Yes. The people are very friendly and helpful and do not pester you as some might say. They are just trying to make a living. Never any offence taken if you walk away from them.
I loved every minute of it, and the Riad we stayed in (Nashira) was the nicest hotel in our 10 city tour of Europe and Morocco.
We did not get 'ripped off' so this might happen to some, but not everyone, and a lot of it has to be said about having an open mind and being positive about things.

“Hassle all the way, but you have chosen to go there”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

It's hot in this kitchen, but if you decide to go, enjoy it. Be ready to barter hard, but there are things especially from Africa you will hardly find elsewhere in the country. The decision is very much in every visitor's hand: if you mind peddling, strong smells and evidence of poverty, then probably Marrakech and Morocco were a wrong choice in the first place. Otherwise, go for it and you will remember it.

“You must go here”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

It was a great experience, the smells, the people, the food, the mint tea, the orange juice, the vibrant colours and irresistible souvenirs you can collect. I loved it and the people were so friendly and fun. Take care not to get lost though!

“Busy Market, keep your guard up.”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Hi

If you are new to these sort of areas it can be quite unsettling but when you get used to it and build up a thick skin its fine.

Start at a 1/4 of any price you are quoted and never go above half.

If you cant get your price just walk away and go to the next stall which will have the same item.

Watch out for fake or very low grade silver being sold as Morocco's finest!
