Owner description: At this small, well organized, and informative museum, you’ll get the chance to learn about the history of Marrakech and the region in general. Stocked with artifacts from past centuries and other quality exhibits, you’ll leave feeling satisfied with your time spent there.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

All the guidebooks rave about this place, but the accompanying text with the exhibits is incomprehensible, and doesn't provide much context. Try the Berber museum in the Jardin Majorelle instead.

“Specialist interest”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

Marrakech museums are similar in being small and typically focused on native people's heritages, but also feeling a little dated. This place fits that mold. If you're interested in the craftwork of Berbers and other Moroccan and Saharan peoples, then do visit.

“Tiny Museum With African Treasures”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Just next to Riad Hayati you can duck in and see some lovely textiles and artisan work from all over Africa. Very friendly little place.

“museum”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

One not to miss. There's a lot to see here of historic interest displayed in a double Riad that feels more like someones home than a museum
