Just don’t go. You can’t win. Afterwards you’ll either hate the food stall people, or yourself, or most likely both.

Was told that the best way to go about the Jemaa Food stalls is by looking to see which of them have locals eating at them - we did this and found our selves here. A very authentic sheep’s head stall that I’d recommend. Was extremely aware of the scams that operate around so when Hassan picked up my plate and started loading more onto it I thought we were in for an unpleasant experience. However, when I asked for the bill afterwards it was as it said on the menu - 20dirham - can only recommend this place. Definitely worth going to the square but also worth being vigilant - p.s. think if your in a group of more than 2 it may be harder to avoid the scams, maybe agree a price beforehand or even pay beforehand etc.

Worth a visit and also, you just cannot skip it while walking in the medina, but I don't recommend spending time here. Little monkeys in chains, tamed snakes, aggressive and harassing people trying to get you sit and eat at their places. Bad and unreliable quality food during the night. Be prepared.
