Worth a visit and also, you just cannot skip it while walking in the medina, but I don't recommend spending time here. Little monkeys in chains, tamed snakes, aggressive and harassing people trying to get you sit and eat at their places. Bad and unreliable quality food during the night. Be prepared.

What can you say, your in the medina, the old city and the souk is a must. The vendors are very pleasant but always strange to see the. On mobile phones now, updating their profiles etc and NOT hassling every passer by as they used to many years ago!!!

A must for anyone staying in Marrakech, you need to see this square during the day and night, as it changes immensely.
During the day it is full of vendors, snake charmers and Monkey Men.
At night, the central part becomes a street food area where competition to get your money is very high between vendors.
The food is poor quality, badly arranged and I think that is where I got a stomach bug from. After eating a meal at one of te stalls I did see them return the uneaten food (Lentils/white beans) to the place they served it from, but by then it was to late!!
A great place to people watch, enjoy the smells and sounds of Marrakech & Morocco.

Be aware that the snake and monkey men will put their animals on you and then Ask/Demand money from you, and they will want lots!! I saw so many people being scammed there.
Also the henna ladies will try and do you hand without asking by taking it and saying something like I show you some henna tattoo, but keep going until you have a full hand of Henna, then want full payment.
Like any city, be wise and safe, enjoy and have fun. We did. But sad to see many get scammed.

Like many great souks, this place felt like a maze. We are glad we had a guide who took us to the right areas without having to wander too much. Loads to see and do. If for nothing else, come for the experience!
