Rude, obnoxious, physically pushy touts from the food stalls. # 43 called my wife a name. Often heard derogatory remarks towards the English. My children felt threatened overwelmed especially #117. Not value for money at all. My advise is to use restaurants on the 'Jemaa El Fna' peripheries.

Jemaa el Fna is a place everyone know about, but to be there, to smell the food, hear people asking/begging you to come and eat at their table, the snake dancers and the little girls selling tissues, this all you have to experience first hand. We had one of our best meals for the cheapest price ever and the cake vendors with the little art works on their carts are the cherry on top. No trip to Marrakesh can ever be completed, without a dinner at Jemaa el Fna.

You can feel you are in a different plaza as you visit this place in a different time of the day. From the almost market less and overdriven one in the noon to the open air greatest food stands´ meeting point as the sun goes down...

Love this square. It is huge with lots of spices, fruits and action. Be prepared to be hassled, but nowhere near as bad as the Souk. The night market is fantastic with plenty of stalls brimming with all sorts of foods. A great experience

The whole atmosphere is fantastic, just remember to haggle. You can buy anything from this 'market', it is huge! Just watch out for the monkey people, they will come up behind you and put the monkey on your shoulder, if your not quick enough they will charge you. So be aware.
