An amazing place to go at dusk the sun goes down the sqyre comes to life, snake charmers , story tellers, smokey atmosphere from food stalls selling all sorts of exotic foods. We ate here several times but gave the brains she eps heads and weird looking fish a miss, what we did have was excellent food .

He must be roaming arround on Djemaa el Fna, especially at night.
Very touristy but still enjoyable and very arabic atmosphere.
Beware of tourist rip offs.

Day and night impression is different. During the day is too hot to spend any time at square. Souks that are just next to it are more interesting. Might be a good idea to watch from the rooftop terraces of nearby cafes evening transformation of the square filling with food stands. Than you can come down and have dinner. Food and fresh orange juices are great. But be prepared to constantly be addressed, offered, even grabbed by your hand to come and see or try something. Not relaxing atmosphere at all, but it is atmosphere of Marrakech and it`s not to be missed.

If you do not like your personal space, do not go!! Try not to look into anyones eyes as they will try and sell the shirt off their back. Wear shoes that cover your feet and take plenty of water.

Great Scott! What an experience! Snake charmers, falcon handlers, palm readers and out of town market traders from the mountains. What I experienced was an ancient people mixing with today's culture. More than just a tourist attraction this was a way of life. The hawker markets are impressively stocked with excellent hosts at every one of the 100+ stalls. Sit there and eat, that's what you're supposed to do and what an excellent time we had. The souks follow on from the square and be prepared for another culture shock! Happy exploring!
