“Crazy manic Marrakech”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

Having arrived at our Riad Anyssates we were keen to experience Marrakech immediately!!...possibly unwise in the darkness as negotiating our way back through the myriad of lanes was an experience in itself!! However armed with our trusty map...shame we can't map read!! We venture forth and finally find our way to the main square having been put off course a few times by locals after a quick dirham by being your guide! A ploy fellow travellers need to be aware of!.....once there though it was amazing, I felt like I had time travelled to another century! Buzzards yes buzzards on leads, snake charmers, painted ladies, fire eaters! Your wildest imagination can lose its self here....also unfortunately your pocket with the constant harassment to buy tacky goods and food...but hey surely that is all part of the experience......enjoy the moment....

The main square in the centre of Marrakech is a fabulous experience, it is a genuine eye opener, from snake charmers to local artists and everything in between.
Best visited at night on Friday or Saturday for the best experience, amazing.

“full of everything”

First, take some pictures with the local water sellers and with the singers gnaou. than, buy the delicious fresh orange juice and give a walk around. after you will be tired of so many beggers and seeing so many...everything, eat some cactus fruit, than sit down at the terraces-roof cafes and enjoy the best tea in the world-Marrakech Tea.
