“Unique experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013 via mobile

An absolute must visit, yes it is dirty, crowded and smelly but that is all part of the experience of being in a very unique City! You see things here you would never see anywhere else! From snake charmers to stalls with hundreds of second hand teeth! A definite must-do in Marrakech!

“Hubbub of activity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

The former site of public executions (pre 19th century) has become the centre point of old Marrakech. At night there are thousands of people eating at the huge number of food stalls that have been erected. This is surrounded by streets of shops and the souk.
We found the whole experience most exhilarating. It is just a place to enjoy the ambience, and food.

“Dirty, dusty and smelly, nothing to see”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

If sitting in overpriced cafes watching beggars and being bothered by hawkers is your thing whilst being wafted by the smell of horse urine then this is the place to visit, otherwise go to the Badii Palace or stay in the new city.
