“Entry only for muslims”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

This is the tallest building in the Medina and accordingly to local custom it will remain that way. It is surrounded by a lovely garden. It is an important land mark. Read about it or have a guide with you to learn something interesting about the building.

“Splendid building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013

It would be hard to miss the Koutoubia Mosque and its Minaret if you are visiting the Medina - it's an important and most beautiful landmark in Marrakech. As non-Muslims, we were unable to visit the interior but walking all around it and viewing it from all sorts of angles was good enough for us. I do wish we could have found a way to gain access to the gardens as I could tell that there was a real botanical treasure just a few feet away from us: lush foliage peeking out above the high walls and swaying in the light breeze gave as much away...

it is an old Masjed, but non-muslims isn't allowed to enter Masjed. because it is only for praying. I wasn't allowed to take pictures from inside.

Stunning mosque. Really stands out in the skyline by its stature and architecture. Surrounded by the pleasant Koutoubia gardens.

“Koutoubia Mosque and Minaret”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

If you are keen on history and the history of Islam, this is the place for you! This is one of the oldest mosques around and you can see the old parts of the mosque as well as the refurbished more modern side. Just beautiful.
