Visited during Ramadan so saw the faithful called to prayer at sundown. Magically haunting.
Muslims are not allowed access butyou can take photos from the doorway.

Koutoubia Mosque has a long and interesting history and it is a pity if you don't take a look at the architecture of one of the most beautiful and unique mosque. The minaret is the central attraction. I recommend you to read a little bit of history regarding this mosque before seeing it.

Around the mosque there are a lot of doxies. Be careful about your bags and privates when you are in Marrakesh. We did not experience any dissapointing event but protection is always useful. Koutoubia Mosque is open for praying. But non muslims can not enter to inside of the mosque.
