Owner description: The Saadian Tombs are located just outside Marrakech and were constructed during the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur in the late 16th century. This is the resting place of al-Mansur, his family, and other notable officials from that era. These tombs were discovered in 1917; restoration began shortly thereafter. Today, much of its original splendour has been restored.

Hidden behind a Mosque & interesting little place, very quiet only us and a handful of tourists.
Visit would have been greatly improved if Multi Language audio guides or Info sheets had been available, would pay more as incredible so cheap.
Apparently this place laid undiscovered for many years until spotted from a plane flying over!
Worth a visit to see the Craftmanship but only if on route to somewhere else close by.

Not sure what the hype was about, but then again, our guide wasn't that informative either. we stood in a long line for a long time to see the 14k gold ceilings and the tops of some tombs. not sure I would have taken the time to do this. but again, our guide wasn't the best so it might have been more interesting had he explained the significance for the tombs to us.

The Saadian Tombs were only discovered about a hundred years ago after being walled up by the sultan Moulay Ismail hundreds of years ago. They are magnificent...quiet, lovely, peaceful. The lighting and the architecture is truly photo worthy. The cost of admission is minimal...however, it is true that there is no information about what you are seeing when you are there...no brochures, no signage, so it helps if you take your guide book with you. Also, if when you get there there is a long line to see the kings' tombs just wait it out...go see the queens' tombs first or just sit and admire the cats and the quiet. That long line will disappear, and since all you do at the end of the line is to stand in a doorway and look it is best if you can wait until no one is behind you if you want to stay for a bit or take pictures. One other fun thing about this spot is that it is walkable from the Jmaa el Fna....takes a little navigating but you can do it and you get to see parts of Marrakech that most tourists don't. Also admire the stork's nest on the roofs around the tombs!

TBH I'd have given this a miss but our super guide, Jamal, took us there. I did take a photo of a beautifully carved archway.

As mentioned in other reviews, this place is quite small but it's definitely worth seeing for 10dh. But be prepare to queue under the heat to see the main tomb.
