Owner description: The Saadian Tombs are located just outside Marrakech and were constructed during the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur in the late 16th century. This is the resting place of al-Mansur, his family, and other notable officials from that era. These tombs were discovered in 1917; restoration began shortly thereafter. Today, much of its original splendour has been restored.

“Not so interesting”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

If you don't have much time in Marrakesh, then don't waste your time going here. It is less spectacular than the palaces and madrass. Maybe tour guide could make it intersting. Walking around on your own, not so much.

“Amazing tranquility and calm”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Visited this amazing well hidden gem last week. The wonderful mosaic tiles, the craftmenship of the carving the Italian marble and pillars is truly awesome. The feeling that seeing a part of history that goes back so many years is wonderful. The atmosphere is tranquil, calming and truly mystical. I was also very lucky to stand and watch a young man chip away at a very small tile and carry out renovation, so clever. It was wonderful and truly understated in the guide book!!!

“Well worth a Visit”

Can be a little hard to find but worth it to see the tombs. Also some nice cafes nearby for coffee and a snack.

“A Beautiful Mausoleum”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

The Saadain Tombs are within the media walls, so easy to visit while you are there. It doesn't take long to see and it is worth the 10 dirham entrance fee. We are Christian and went with a guide who explained to us how Muslims are buried. I recommend going in with a guide, because to my knowledge there are no tours provided by the management.
