Owner description: The Saadian Tombs are located just outside Marrakech and were constructed during the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur in the late 16th century. This is the resting place of al-Mansur, his family, and other notable officials from that era. These tombs were discovered in 1917; restoration began shortly thereafter. Today, much of its original splendour has been restored.

“Well worth a Visit”

Can be a little hard to find but worth it to see the tombs. Also some nice cafes nearby for coffee and a snack.

“A Beautiful Mausoleum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

The Saadain Tombs are within the media walls, so easy to visit while you are there. It doesn't take long to see and it is worth the 10 dirham entrance fee. We are Christian and went with a guide who explained to us how Muslims are buried. I recommend going in with a guide, because to my knowledge there are no tours provided by the management.

But still worth a visit. Lovely mosaic work and well laid out for self guided visit. We enjoyed the many cats!

“Secret treasure”

We got here just after a large tourist party left and had the place almost to ourselves. Well worth the tiny entry fee - amazing craftsmanship and feeling of peace

“Interesting but lacking info in English”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

This was an interesting site but perhaps we should have used one of the English speaking guides we saw so as to help us appreciate it more.
