I stayed in the Tichka in December 2011 and again this year, December 2012, and things have sadly gone downhill. The room was much cleaner a year ago, and the staff were a lot more friendly then too. Breakfast that is supposed to be served from 7am was still not fully in place nearly an hour later.
And then things got a whole lot worse, with a complete power failure. Bad enough, but also handled very badly by the staff who were sullen and unhelpful. It was several hours before guests were issued with small candles to light their rooms and, if lucky, a saucer to stand them in. A back-up generator was used to light the restaurant and bar, but the following morning it became apparent that it was not being used to heat water, so if you wanted a shower you had to be very brave indeed. After 24 hours the power was still not on, so the tour operator moved us all to alternative accommodation. As far as I could tell, the power was still out at the Tichka when I left Marrakech.
It's sad to see how much this hotel has deteriorated in a year. I'm assuming that 2/3+ days of power outage is not a regular feature, and based my rating on pre-power cut conditions.
