“Wonderful road, chose your room carefully!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2014

What a lovely place to stay in the medina. A very unassuming entrance that opens into some wonderful space. Despite the heat the riad offers a very cool space, with a long pool to the rear with loungers set amongst olive trees that catch the breeze "just so".

I really appreciated the free (soft drinks) minibar and laundry service, nice touches, and well set out with little private spaces and alcoves dotted throughout.

You do have a choice with rooms, we had the deluxe rooms (the cheapest) which were at ground level but, you know, I think they were the most authentic and nicest rooms in the whole place. I'd recommend rooms 10 and 11 as they are spacious, quiet and have pretty much their own private courtyard which is really fab. For minor reasons we had to move and were upgraded to upstairs rooms (8 and 9) with their own roof terrace and access to a rooftop pool. So ok, a private lounger but not as nice as beside the ground floor pool anyway and the rooms themselves were noticeably smaller so I'd suggest you think about saving the 400 MAD room rate unless you really, really need a rooftop terrace.
Service was perhaps not as spot on and attentive as some, but it was Ramadan and it was hot so I'm sure it improves outside of that time.
I do recommend this place!

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms on the ground floor are cheaper, and bigger than those on 1st floor with a rooftop terr...

La Villa des Orangers is probably the nicest place to stay in Medina Marrakech. This riad is such a treasure, you can't be dissapointed! It really has everything. Amazing and genuine surroundings, great food, extraordinary service, spacious bedrooms, swimmingpools, beautifull roof top, several chillout rooms, spa treatment, just to mention some. Every star of the five they've got, is well deserved! Me and my wife give our warmest recommondations! Kick back, find yourself at ease and enjoy:)

My wife and I loved our stay at La Villa des Orangers. The staff was very friendly and accommodating--they helped us with dinner reservations, questions about the city, directions and most of the team speaks great English which was very helpful. They bring your breakfast to your room or terrace so that you can have a private breakfast which is a great touch.

We explored several other Riads for dinner and the food and the ambiance at Villa des Orangers was the best by far. The layout is spacious enough that it doesn't feel cramped and there are so many open air rooms that you feel like you're outside throughout the riad (it's amazing how peaceful and quite it is being just a 3 minute walk from the center of the Medina).

We did one spa treatment (a "hammam") and it was excellent. The woman who performed the treatment was professional and the spa itself was beautiful.

Overall a fantastic experience!! We will definitely come back.

Room Tip: The private terrace was great but probably not necessary as the entire hotel feels like an outdoor s...

The hotel was stunningly beautiful and a perfect quiet and relaxing base when exploring Marrakech. It was a wonderful contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city and is so peaceful and calming. We ate at Mamounia during our stay and although we enjoyed our meal and it was fantastic to see the hotel as it is so grand we were glad to return to the peace and quiet elegance of our hotel. We would definitely stay again.

We loved staying here, the room was well set out with plenty of space. A staircase led up to the open air balcony where we often had breakfast brought up to us. There were two pools we used, one on the rooftop and one below. Food was good, they went out of their way to provide gluten and allum free meals. We will definitely be back!

The location is excellent, a short walk to the market. The staff were also helpful and welcoming.

Room Tip: I only saw our room, so I cannot comment on others.

Quite exceptional and a hidden secret - like an oasis - yet a short walk to the main square and the souks. I was staying here with a small group and La Villa des Orangers looked after us all really well. The rooms are lovely, all a little different but that is part of the charm as it is so different from the normal "uniform" hotel and they offer a high standard of service. The food in the restaurant is extremely well presented and to a high standard. I would love to go back - it is utterly charming.

Well located, spectacular hotel. Beautiful rooms, a relaxing poolside atmosphere and also an amazing array food, I can't forget the beef salad. The hotel helped organise a class teaching how to write Arabic script which was a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.
