Stayed here recently for a weekend break. We didn't get off to a good start as the receptionist refused to acknowledge the room up-grade promised by our travel agent. It took until the next day to resolve the issue and we were finally moved to another room (after being asked to sit and wait for nearly an hour) - requesting to see the general manage r eventually got things moving. The hotel itself was of a good standard and the staff friendly and welcoming. The food was also good - an extensive breakfast menu and a good lunch buffet. We dined one night at the Orangerie restaurant and again found the menu to be varied and interesting. Our only criticism is that the food is expensive and the choice of venues to eat in the evening is quite limited. The service in the restaurants was variable - despite the presence of many staff they failed to clear tables in a timely way and we had to ask 3 times for tea and coffee! The pool facilities were good and we used the spa which was great and offered a very good discount. The hotel is well located and not too far from the medina and main tourist attractions. Overall, this was a good choice for a short break.

We stayed at this hotel for a week at the end of Feb,the hotel is actually two hotels in one with all facilities the same for both. We arrived late but check in was smooth and we were quickly in our room. The room was fine with comfortable beds, good size bathroom and powerful shower although may be a bit dated. The pool area is excellent with lots of comfortable double & single sun loungers, we never had a problem getting a place. We had breakfast each morning on the terrace which was brilliant with great service and an excellent choice. we found the service throughout to be very good and very friendly despite the demands of some guests. The only slight issue we had at the hotel was the price of both drinks and food which we found to be expensive so we ventured to the extrablatt cafe a two minute walk away which was ideal for coffee and snacks.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the madness of the medina a real experience and suggest everyone visit both during the day and at night, good luck crossing the roads and with the friendly locals who suddenly become guides that want paying.
There are plenty of taxis available outside the hotel but make sure you agree your fair up front as they will try it on. Try a ride in one of the petit taxis for an experience, they are shall I say less luxurious!!!.
On checkout they had charged for some items we had not had so be aware of that but on the whole we enjoyed our stay

Okay, check-in was slow, but that's my only complaint! Otherwise we all fell in love with the setting, the ecclectic mix of traditional Moroccan and French grandezza and the location. Lunch in the gardon, lounging by the pool, clubbing right next door - and the city center in 15 min walkinf distance! Too bad it was a business trip!

Lovely looking hotel with some great staff, although we were two ladies we were given a room with a double bed, back at reception we were told a twin bedded room would be ready later. We sat outside and had drinks, two hours later our room was ready but unfortunately overlooked a road with lots of work going on! Although we arrived at the hotel at 2pm we did not get into our room until 4.30 so felt our first afternoon in Marrakech was wasted. Having said that the room was very comfortable with loads of hot water whenever we wanted a shower.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool and gardens.

Luxury hotel, wonderful reception area. We had a lovely room with balcony over looking the pool area. Staff were very friendly especially like to thank mint tea guy Hakim, welcome door guys Khalid, Taufiq, and also Siham from the le jardin restaurant.
Great location only 10 min walk from main square.
Only down side the service was very slow, you have to ask more than once to get what you want.
Spa was amazing but pricey... Ikram (therapist) was lovely.

Room Tip: Choose a pool view room

I would like to start off saying, I love Sofitel hotels. The location in Marrakech is great, the pool and bar area terrific. However, the room we were given smelled of sewers and the cleanliness leaves to be desired. I have heard the same comment from friends staying in a different section of the hotel, so this is something to watch for. There are so many great hotels in Marrakech, this is one city that I will skip the Sofitel.

This hotel was special and made our stay in marrakech excellent. It is in a fab area (just outside the medina) which has chic cafe bars and restaurants. The hotel provided a calm oasis amongst the crazy medina. The hotel is very relaxed and unpretentious. The staff were very helpful and there were plenty in hand at all times. The hotel gym is decent and heated outdoor pool is great. Only downside was the hotels food and drink prices as it kept us well away!
