“Poor service but good location and decent pool.”
Reviewed August 8, 2013 via mobile

Both concierges at the Ibis were very friendly and helpful but the restaurant staff were terrible.

Arrived for breakfast at 9 and nothing had been set out. It was obviously just the remains of the post fasting 'petit-dejaneur' left from the night before. Had to ask for plates, then knives, then tea-spoons, there were only a couple of cups left and the remaining food was very substandard. The staff just grunted everytime we had to ask for the missing items. We finished our breakfast and checked out!

The rooms were'nt great either. As other reviews state they have noisey air-con, the plaster on the walls is flaking off, the halls are shabby and there was a refurb going on in the floor below.

On the other hand, the concierge was very helpful, assisting us with the printing off of flight check-in documents, and other matters.

For £60 a night it was probably overpriced although it is situated between the Supra-tours station and the train station.

Ibis Marrakech is located next to the Gare de Marrakech, Supratour bus station, and a busy road. Stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Well maintained Moroccan style hotel. Comfortable room. Great garden and pool area. A little bit far from the Marrakech Medina (about 30 minutes stroll) but still this is a great value hotel. Ask for room with pool and garden view, since the rooms facing the busy road can be very noisy (as was mine).

This is by no means a standard ibis - it should be styled as Ibis Budget (former Etap Hotel) and would fit perfectly as such.
Location - perfect for arrivals by train, just around the corner from the Marrakech central railway station. About half an hour walk to the Koutoubia mosque via the central plaza - and it's good to take this walk to see the parts of the modern city. Having said that, in the summer do this before 8-9 am.
Rooms: some noise from the street & from neighboring rooms. Mine was a miniature one: had just enough place for the bed (decent size), one chair and one suitcase/backpack.
Cleanliness: mixed. Awfully sticky phone handset and TV pilot, linen had definitely seen better times, but the toilet was super-clean.
Breakfast: it is a joke. Some marmalade, some buns, a selection of 3 types of cornflakes, one type of sausage and that's it. I've eaten much better in all the (other) Etaps I've stayed in different countries.
However, if you need a place to lay your head just after arriving / before departure, this seems to be a place to go to.
I have mixed feelings when I'm wondering whether I'd stay there again... I think that under the same or similar circumstances (I arrived in the evening, slept here, went out early in the morning to see the city and never got back), I would. Maybe I'd skip breakfast and go to the McDonalds at the railway station instead.

Room Tip: The rooms named somenumber-A are really small. Street-side rooms have significant noise from the st...

Having read a few bad reviews we we booked with some hesitation, but we had a good stay here. We stayed just one night in transit changing from the train to the bus and for that its location could not be faulted. A short walk from the train station and right next door to the suptratours bus station. The room was small, but was comfortable. The bathroom not the cleanest, but again was fine. We did not experience any noise disturbance at all. The food in the restaurant was average. Having a pool was great for our daughter - really nice to be able to cool off and play after a 7 hour train ride. The staff were friendly and helpful (the rate they quoted was more expensive than online via booking.com, so they suggested we sit down in the lobby, book online, then check in. They also got me a glass of water when I suddenly felt faint.

Room Tip: Rooms near the lift (not near the train tracks) are quiet

This hotel is basic but has everything you need. My room was quiet although facing the road. Most of the staff were helpful, some really marvellous to a non French speaker. Breakfast had a good selection and was included in my very reasonable room rate. Would have liked a jug in my room but cups of boiling water were always available at bar. Overall good value for money.

Rude customer service, I had a noisy room next to the street and could not sleep, the room was exrtremly outdated and dirty, the pool was also dirty and when I asked for 1 more towel they did not deliver it until the next day 5 minutes before checkout.... worst hotel in Marrakech , price does not reflect value....

Usual Ibis standads albeit a bit less clean thanusual.LOcation is practicalnext to train and Supratours station but noisy - asfor a roomgiving on the pleasant garden where you can have a beer in a quiet setting.Do not forget to visit the Jardins des Majorelles for another realxing moment and the Dar Bahia to admire architecture, specially in the quarters of the Wizir s favorite wife
