“Fantastic, blissful holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

What a wonderful 10day experience at the pullman which all the family enjoyed. The kids club is top class, animals, face painting, pony rides, go-carts, pottery, trampolining to name but a few which was managed by a wonderful friendly team who clearly love working with kids.

The food varied and extremely tasty. Food freshly prepared in front of you with a wide range of fruits, vegetables, salads, pastas, succulent tagines, fish & poultry dishes, deserts and cheeses, as well as a breakfast fit for a king.

Pool area in general small but adequate with no shortage of sun beds. Pool-staff pleasant and courteous, happy to assist. Pool bar very rarely had queues with max wait of 2mins with refreshing drinks and snacks. Serving pancakes and ice creams for kids at "l'heure de gouter".

Entertainment most evenings albeit light, perhaps could do with a little more in this area.

Rooms spacious, clean and well stocked everyday with water, tea and a full functioning expresso machine. Our suite was extremely well situated with no on looking guests. Very quiet, never heard any problems with noise from other guests.

Free shuttle bus that departed daily to and fro from hotel to medina.

In a nutshell we had a wonderful stay, service 5 star. Look forward to returning again and will certainly recommend it to others wishing an excellent all inclusive holiday in Marrakesh. Having finished our holiday in marrakesh in another hotel (which supposedly was also 5star) which was not a patch on the Pullmans fully deserving 5 star service and professionalism.

We did a five-day training for people from across Africa at the Pullman Palmeraie, and it was a great experience. Hard to work when so many others are enjoying the pool, but the staff (led by Olga) was marvelous, and the space was great. They were very responsive to all our needs.

It was great to have a meeting in such a beautiful place. The food was probably the best I've had at a buffet-style place. Lots of variety. The rooms were also very nice. Regular free shuttles into the old city. The only down side was that it's 44 degrees C (112 degrees F) in Marrakech in the summer!

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms better because you can leave things on your balcony.

Having never been to Morocco (been to Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia) we decided we would go somewhere different! I confess to being uncertain but my husband has wanted to go for some years so we took the plunge!
We need not have worried! From the minute we arrived (around 12.15pm) we were greeted like royalty by a lovely young man on reception who followed us out to the terrace ( we wanted a cigarette!) and treated us to a very welcome 'welcome' drink of refreshing and lovely mint drink.
We were told our room would not be ready until 2pm (which we were well aware of) but were given our 'Pullman all inclusive bands' so that we could go off and get a drink and some lunch before we were given our keys. This we did and the choice of food was superb!
A couple of drinkies later and a quick peruse of the site and we returned to pick up our room keys.
We were driven in a 'golf buggy' to our room with our luggage by a delightul guy who made sure we knew where everything was and we were comfortable before he left wishing us a lovely holiday!
We spent a few hours (due to tiredness at having gotten up so early) in our room. A mini fridge was stocked with bottles of water, a wonderful overhead walk in shower and a large supply of all bathroom bottles greeted us along with a huge king size bed with lightweight feather quilt and pillows to die for and superb air con! Tea & coffee facilities (re-stocked daily) so leave your kettle at home!

From day 1 we were greeted by staff and other guests with a really friendly demeanour! Yes, the majority of guests were french and I speak a little French but even if I hadn't, a friendly, smiley 'Bonjour' is as universal as a friendly, smiley 'Hello'!
The pool is not huge but I understand that there are plans to extend this! That said, it is more than adeqate and we had many relaxing swims.
Staff absolutely bent over backwards to be friendly, helpful and give you their very best service.
I am given to understand that a former guest (who left just after we arrived) left a particularly unkind review and it was very clear that management and staff took those comments personally and absolutely worked their tails off to make sure that these feelings were not shared by other British guests! I can assure you that from mine and my husbands point of view and the opinions of other British guests we spoke to, they certainly were not!!
Olga (PR lady) was so kind to us and asked us many times if everything was ok! The deputy manager was amazing and when my husband pointed out that the beautiful fountain that was in view every day on the lake but was switched off at night could be so beautiful at night with lights, hey presto, the fountain and the surrrounding buildings were fully lit that night! What a spectacular sight!

Entertainment every evening was tailored to children (earlier part) and universal audience later on! I loved the 'Michael Jackson experience' & the 'Fire' show! Amazing!

I am privilledged to have made friends with a lovely lady from the pool bar (L'Oasis) and we have continued to communicate since we have returned. She, Rhita, and her colleagues Fatima, Osama and other lovely people who's names, I confess, I haven't remembered, made every day lovely.
The manager of the Moroccan restaurant was an absolute gentleman and we thank him personally for a wonderful evening!! The chef of the main restaurant and his team have our sincere thanks, We enjoyed every meal and never struggled to put an interesting but none the less tasty plate together!

I could go on and on but in brief, we had a wonderful and restful 10 days at the Pullman Marrakech and we are already looking at the possibility of returning next year.
Mr Saleh, you run a beautiful hotel and your staff clearly have a great deal of respect for you and care passionately for what they do!

One tiny observation Mr Saleh, clothing storage in the room could be a little more. My dresses became quite creased as the hanging space in the wardrobe is not very high and if you would like more British visitors, it would be lovely if maybe a couple of English channels (apart from the news & sport) on the TV were available early evening for children and people returning to their room slightly earlier than other guests.

That said, an amazing holiday - thank you so much!

British people thinking of coming to Morocco and this hotel, do not hesitate! You will be greeted and treated with a genuinly friendly welcome which continues throughout your stay!

Thank you to you all at the hotel for a wonderful holiday - see you soon x

Debbie & Paul

We have just returned from a fabulous 10 day stay at the Pullman. From the first moment we were whisked from our transfer in a golf cart to an easy check in at reception then immediately asked by the amazing Olga if we would like some dinner while our bags were taken to our room, then after finishing a lovely buffet the golf cart appeared to take us to our room. The deluxe rooms are lovely and spacious for family of 3, very comfortable bed and large walk in rain shower, the air conditioning was great and the rooms cleaned perfectly everyday with fresh bottles of water and lots of free toiletries, bath robes and slippers. There is only one main pool with a small children's pool but I found this adequate enough and managed to swim quite happily everyday yes there were children and aqua gym music for half an hour a day! But isn't that what holidays are all about if you want peace and quiet go to a non family resort. Yes the hotel is mainly French but we had no problems with communications and I don't speak much French beyond bonjour, I can't believe people complain about this as you are abroad why should people speak English that's the whole point of travelling and enjoying the country and it's people. Lastly a big thank you to Rachid our waiter in the restaurant who after the first night remembered our drinks for the next 9 and we didn't even have to ask for a refill it was done as soon as he noticed our glass was empty and to Laribe who we now consider a friend thank you for all our wonderful conversations about football and look forward to seeing you again soon.

I am still staying at this hotel and feel really disappointed by the small minded reviews of some of the English guests. If you want to go to an English resort then choose an English hotel. Pullman is French owned so therefore more French! So much nicer than fish and Chips and drunken English! The hotel and staff are wonderfully helpful the majority speak good English. The pool is not too small but admittedly quite busy and noisey but still pleasant. The snack bar never had any queues! The food is varied and lots of local dishes too and no fish and chips in sight. The rooms are adequate , have a lovely walk In Shower and vey nice complimentary shower products, but could do with more storage . Cleaned really well daily. The free shuttle is great and vey useful. All in all having a wonderful stay so far! I have never done all inclusive but certainly would again, the choice and quality is superb.

The common areas of the are smartly appointed but had a rather hollow feel to the place as there were very few guests spread around, possibly because we were there during the low season. Great views of the mountains. Rooms were a little disappointing - rather basic and seems in need of an upgrade. Taxis are always readily available to take you into town (15 mins away)

On first impressions the hotel looked perfect, we soon discovered that it is mainly for French speaking guests. As English travellers, we were not fazed by this initially as we could speak enough French to get by, but unless you are a fluent speaker you will find it very difficult to get by at the Pullman, with only the reception staff speaking English. The other staff only seem to understand "Hello".
The majority of guests were French or Morrocan, we found them to be unfriendly. Particularly one Morrocan female, who demanded that we vacate our chosen sunbathing spot by the pool as it was her usual space, when we declined, she suggested that we "go back to our own country" then sent over her husband, who I assume, was swearing at us in French and had to be physically encouraged to leave us alone by the "pull-boy" who was apologetic in a broken english, hand gesturing kind of way, indicating that we should stay where we were. Never had that in any country I've visited before & there have been many around the globe.

The pool itself is nice, although too small for the amount of guests, with sunbeds all lined up inches apart, this is the only swimming pool on site, not the place to spend a relaxing day, it's an extremely noisy area, with the aqua gym music playing, kids screaming and bombing into the pool. We did resort to wearing earplugs to drown out some of the noise.
The hotel grounds are extensive, with plenty of room to build other pools, a large area is taken up by a stinky lake, it has sunbeds around it & it is quiet, but smells like rotten eggs, so we had no alternative but to sit by the overcrowded pool area.
We also noticed that the "pull-boys" would accept money from guests to get the sunbeds that they wanted, removing the towels and belongings of other guests to accomodate, I did intervene on two occasions, when I saw this happening stating that the occupiers had only gone for lunch or to get a drink, but the staff stated they did not understand and asked us to go to reception. This practice caused conflict between a number of guests, especially a lady with a newborn baby, who had a sunbed in a shaded area near us, another couple had her items removed, including the baby blanket, nappies etc, she was extremely upset by the confrontation.
The meals are a little dull and repetitive, the food is generally bland, pizza, pasta, stews, bizzare salad mixes. Breakfast is the usual fare, nothing exceptional. The main issue with meals was that it was so hard to get a drink, waiters would actively ignore you, as they didn't speak English, prefering to fawn over the French speaking guests, some nights we had to wait up to twenty minutes just to get our table set. We would order drinks, which would arrive within ten minutes, then no one would come near us again, as all inclusive guests, drinks were not readily available, you had to actually go & find a member of staff to get you one. In the mornings you were restricted to one cup of tea or coffee, which was poured for you, I expect you could have had more, but it meant chasing staff around, so we couldn't really be bothered with that. We noticed that other guests were left with a coffee pot per table, but when we enquired about this, we were met with shrugged shoulders and single cups of coffee.
By the pool you could go and get drinks from the cafe bar, but large queues made this tiresome. The only day that everything appeared to run smoothly was one day when they looked like they were having a hotel inspection, there were lots of people in suits wandering around, hanging around the pool area and food outlets. That day there was no queuing, no shortage of sunbeds, even girls roaming around the pool area with trays of sliced fruit for the guests. Purely for show of course, the next day went back to the usual slow service.
There was a new girl at the pool bar, Rita, I think. She was very attentive, friendly and pleasant, more than any of the other staff at the hotel, the other staff could really do with some training in customer relations, it's not about who will pay you extra for good service, gets good service.
I would not recommend this hotel to any English travellers, as it can feel quite isolating, when no one speaks to you. We can speak enough French to get by, but unless you are fluent, this will not get you by at the Pullman.
