“A little gem inside Medina”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

This riad is a little gem within the walls of the Medina, a haven of peace after the day's fatigue and the bustle of the streets and pushy merchants. A small team of friendly and charming people. We are delighted with the good advice, details and explanations about Marrakech gastronomy that Mohamed gave us, the luxury of charming conversation and time you would not find in a bigger hotel. I recommend it and hope to return.

Merci bien Mohamed, à bientôt je l'espère bien!!

I really feel, I was living in Marrakech rather than visiting. This is an authenthic Riad but with all the conforts that you would expect in a small western boutique hotel. It was so nice to come back every afternoon after go around busy Marrakech, and enjoy the confort and hospitality of the profesional and extremily frendly staff. Breakfast was great and a couple of nights we didnt feel, like going out and they organice a dinner for us, wich was, I have to say the best of our trip. Even though is quiet a central location, the area is very quiet. . Highly recomended!!

Room Tip: Wherever I stay, I prefer top floor rooms.

This is a relatively small and intimate Riad near Bab Yacout in the outskirts of the Medina. Whilst the rooms are quite tight, they are simple and stylish and there is a lovely roof terrace. Mohammad, the manager, couldn't have done more to make our stay truly wonderful.

We had a great experience at Riad Shambala. Quiet, charming, nice and clean is how I would describe Shambala. Very close to the Zouk and the El Fna Square, you feel like at home when you get back to the Riad.
The service was great and very familiar, they arranged anything we wanted to do, such as dinner reservations or calesa ride through the Medina, without the barging that you have to do outside if you want to do any of this things.
Last night was very special, we had a very good local dinner with a bottle of Spanish red wine by the fire place, what else can you ask for?
We are already planning our next visit to Marrakech, of course, at Riad Shambala.

Staying at Riad Shambala has been one of the most unique experiences I have ever had.

The hotel has a special charm that can only be appreciated by staying there.

In contrast to the mad life outside in the medina which is always so crowded, when we came back to Shambala it seemed like entering paradise. The peace inside, the nice lounges and rooms, the cool swimming pool were all very relaxing and made you forget the madness outside. Also do not miss out the typical Moroccan breakfast in Shambala, where again all the details in the Riad and the service were outstanding!

Mohamed, manager at Riad Shambala treated us so well, that it definetly made choosing Shambala worthwile an entirely a different trip experience. Furthermore he gave us all the inside tips about the best local restaurants to go to, as well as doing all the bookings for us, as well us the places to see and how and where to buy what we were looking for, and even a recommendation of the best massage & hammam places in the city .

Room Tip: If possible go for the suites! I really liked A Chamm though all are very nice
