We spent over a week at Riad Laksiba with a group of 10 people. Located in the Medina, it is easy to walk to the souks and to all the places of interest; also, it is very close to the Cafe Clock, which I would recommend. Car / Taxi access is a little challenging, but the the Baksiba Gate is only a couple of blocks away if you need a larger car to pick you up. The service at the house was excellent. Adil and Abdelhamid were our hosts and they both were incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming. they helped us with all arrangements, reservations, transportation, etc. Breakfasts and dinners at the Riad were great (probably some of the best meals we had in Morocco). The house itself is very nice and cozy in addition to having a great charm and all the details of the Moroccan style. We really loved it. There were two details that would have made the stay a little more pleasant: the beds were all small twins (two per room) and not terribly comfortable, and the bathrooms are very very simple. No place to put your stuff and shower stall, just a handheld shower head in the corner. It was difficult to take a shower without getting everything in the bathroom soaking wet and standing water all over the floor. I would suggest at the least adding shower curtains. Nevertheless, we had a great time, and left with great memories and a warm feeling toward our new Moroccan friends.
Stunning traditional Riad in a fantastic location! This review is well overdue; we visited for a long weekend to celebrate a friends hen weekend and from the moment we booked, to the moment we departed we were treated far better than I have experienced in many five star resorts.
As a group of young-ish girls, with only a short time in the city the house manager looked after us; arranged taxis for us and ensured we didn't get ripped off and even escorted us to and from a nightclub which was very reassuring and just made the whole trip so much easier and hassle free.
The Riad is superbly clean, we had a home cooked meal the first night which was beautiful and the fridge was kept fully stocked and is so reasonable it's almost daylight robbery!
All in all a fabulous weekend getaway and hopefully one day we can visit again!
Well done to Simon and all of the team!
We had a great week at the Riad, Adil couldn't do enough for us, there are a few small things that are requiring some attention, however, Simon the owner assures me he is on the case! Easy correspondance with Simon before and after our stay. We asked for drinks and provisions be available on our arrival, and sure enough everything we asked for was provided. The breakfasts were lovely, overall a great place to stay in a great location.
I recently stayed at this lovely Riad in the heart of the Kasbah with my sister and had a fantastic time. The Riad has undergone a traditional and sympathetic refurbishment with beautiful detailing. The team were very friendly and helpful and fun and really made the trip for us. The rooftop terrace was lovely with a Berber tent to hide in if the heat gets too much. There are two resident tortoises who provided great amusement - I never realised they could have such personalities. We are already planning out next trip in April.
All the previous reviews on Trip advisor are correct, this Riad is fantastic! My sister and I had a six night stay and had a wonderful time, cannot recommend highly enough. Firstly the area right in the Kasbah vibrant, interesting and friendly and easy to find, not too far out from the Souks. Secondly the Riad, authentic and sympathetically restored by the English owners we were so comfortable in these beautiful surroundings. Thirdly the staff Adil, Hammed and two lovely ladies who couldn't do enough for us, they were so helpful and friendly, we are very grateful to them. They all went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible and we were not disappointed. Thank you to Simon and his first class team.
In May, my boyfriend and I visited the Riad for 5 nights. Upon our arrival, Abdil and Hammid were extremely welcoming and kind and gave us some hints and tips as to what we might like to do whilst in Marrakech. Throughout our stay they were always there to help or advise us when we needed it. The place is traditional and beautiful...a beautiful haven. The roof terrace and little plunge pool are lovely touches. The rooms are large and clean and beds are very comfy. The breakfasts were delicious and varied each morning and always served with a smile. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit the Riad again in the future. We would also recommend a trip to the mountains- however make sure you've got your trainers as our climb to see the waterfall in flip flops was somewhat interesting! Would 100% recommend. Amazing value for money- an authentic Moroccan experience with a touch of luxury.
We spent 4 nights/days at the Riad Laksiba 2 weeks ago and found it to be not only beautiful but some of the best service we have had in our travels. Due to some confusion with our taxi, we had significant difficulty finding the location because the driver was unfamiliar with the area. Our hosts, Hamid and Abdil rescued us from what had been a nightmare day. They brought us to the Riad, listened to our story so patiently and gave us calming mint tea.
Our daughter was also very sick with bronchitis and the hosts made all kinds of efforts to help her be more comfortable while she tried to rest and recuperate.
The breakfasts they served each morning were delicious, varied and something we looked forward to each day. The hosts were very helpful in coaching us about where to go, how to be safe, opportunities for tours we might like among other things. They were always available for questions and just good conversation.
We highly recommend Riad Laksiba.
