My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Angsana. We stayed at the Riad Tivaline which was one out of the 6 Riads in the Angsana collection and only steps away from the main Si Said Riad where the reception was and breakfast was served. We had a room on the main floor in the courtyard in front of a beautiful fountain, room was large and comfortable with lounge area and fireplace. Overall Riad was beautiful with a library and nice terrace and felt like a boutique hotel. I really appreciated the decor and atmosphere. The Moroccan restaurant was also excellent and the breakfast was very nice served in the courtyard. The location was great! just about 5 mins walk from the main Jemaa El Fna square.
The only unpleasant experience we came across was upon initial arrival. Because of the small streets in the medina, the location would be difficult to locate. The taxi dropped us off in the main lot/square closest to the Riad. A young guy offered to show us the way, we declined as we wanted to find it ourselves but he insisted and walked us to the Riad only steps away. We were happy to give him a small tip for his help but upon arrival, we found he had couple of "friends" who walked with us and then demanded us give them 100 dirhams for their "help". We refused to give them 100 dirhams but they wouldn't leave us alone and the security guard at the Riad was NOT helpful at all and did not make the guys leave as this appears to be a common situation. We still refused to give more money and I was very surprised by the lack of help since he was "security". Other than this incident, all the other hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful during our stay, all other service was great. They even gave us a courtesy room after check-out on last day before we had to leave for airport due to a late flight. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and I would recommend this Riad to anyone looking for a beautiful boutique accommodation in the Medina.
