Just returned from a stay at Riad Faiza. Could not have asked for more. Arnauld, Karim and Assan made our stay perfect. The Riad is very pretty and the rooms spacious and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was plenty. We also dined here and the food was good. Arnauld and his staff were always ready to help us and were available 24hrs. Its situated in a quiet alley only 10min walk away from El Fna square.

I did not like my stay in this Riad, you can find a better option for this money. The main problem with this Riad is hospitality and the greed.

I would tell two stories about this problems:

- Before I came to Riad, I emailed them and asked how to get their. They explained me and said, that it would be difficult for me to get there for the first time, so I should take a shuttle, which costed 15 euros. And then they began to hustle me about the shuttle, trying to convince me that it is the best option - it is the cheapest (while it is not, the average taxi costs 5-7 euros), it is easy to get robbed on the streets, it is difficult to get to riad and etc. I think it is inappropriate.
- The Riad takes money for pastries, they cost 8 EURos (it costs like an average lunch with meat for one person)

Still the location of the riad is good, and the room was average. I would better choose another one riad next time.

Dear guest,
Thanks a lot for your message, and choosing Riad Faïza for your stay in marrakech.
We are very sorry you didn't like your stay at home. Unfortunatly we don't share and we are not agree with 100% of your comments, but it's yours and you can share it with the community. So we prefer let people make their own appreciation, that's the reason why we post below a part of our exchange on our facebook page (private message). We sincerly thing that we don't engage you for the shuttle service. Just explain you, and it's true, that in the street, alone, and for the first time in marrakech, people, children and taxi are not like in europe !! after you choose how you want to come to the riad.
Concerning prices of pastries, we offer you (and for all guest arrive in the riad, pastries and mint tea.) i understand you like it, it's incredible, they are so suit !!!!but all prices are display in the riad, so please to look prices before command something where ever you go next time in the world !

hi! can you tell me how i can get to the riad from the train station?

GUEST 21/12/2015 18:38
And how i can contact you in case i can't find riad?

RIAD
Hi , if you choose the shuttle service it's very easy for the our driver. (10 minutes)
If you come alone, take a taxi, ask him te name of the gate of marrakech "Bab Ghmat" the riad is near the small place of "Douar Graoua".
Street "Arset Logzail
n°15 Derb el warda"
Riad Faiza.
i'm afraid it will be difficult for you if it's the first time in marrakech. Watch out with the taxi and childs in the street.
if you've a problem call the riad :
00 212 5 24 38 .. .. from morocco
if you want the shuttle service, ask me by facebook, and wait at the train station.

GUEST :
Thank you! and how much is the shuttle bus?

RIAD
hi , it's 15€ in private and air conditionned car. Direct to the door of the riad.

GUEST
And how much is the taxi?

RIAD
Less, if you are a good negociator ! and may be more if you aren't.
The taxi doesn't bring you to the door of the riad, but near the riad, after you've to search and walk alone with your luggages. Our driver, bring you to the riad, and take your luggages. As you want tell me your choice.

GUEST
Okey, i will tell you if i want the shuttle bus 1-2 days before my arrival

Loved our stay in Riad Faiza. Absolutely lovely surroundings, rooms were gorgeous, breakfast was lovely - overall just incredible value. Terrace is fantastic for soaking up the sun, and the staff really made our stay. They helped us booking restaurants in the evening. Very close to the square, the riad is located down a little alley so is tricky to find first time. The hotel offers a transfer service from the airport so definitely get in touch in advance to arrange this because it's cheaper than a taxi and they'll know exactly where to take you!

The location is really good, inside the Medina, but in a quiet area, what is important to escape from the crowd of the square. I recommend to take the transfer from the airport to the hotel, because it is really easy to get lost in the Medina, but maybe with a GPS you can do it without problems.
The room is spacious, with confortable bed, but it was a bit too cold for the winter, missing some type of heater.
Staff is always trying to help, they offer the typical tea and cookies for the welcome, what makes us feel like at home.
Wifi is unstable, but enough for using sometimes.
The hotel has still a terrace for enjoying the sun and offer jacuzzi and massages for a small fee.
There are extra tax not include in the reservation, around 25dh/night/person.

We stayed here for 4 nights in October 2012 with friends and had an absolutely wonderful time. I had read all the reviews and knew what to expect when we arrived, but my husband and our two friends all looked dubious when we were lead down a small alley to the Riad. However, as soon as we walked through the doors any doubts soon disappeared. It is beautiful, very calm and tranquil. The decor is very tasteful and you can see that a lot of time and thought has been put into it. Our room was really nice and the bathroom was beautiful. Joudia and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast and it was all freshly prepared - very tasty it was too. We had a meal there one evening (which you have to order the day before) and it was a wonderful experience - we were the only ones eating there that evening and the table was laid in the middle of the courtyard with rose petals scattered on the table cloth. It was like having your own private restaurant - what a fabulous experience.
Unfortunately, one day my husband was feeling unwell and so we stayed at the riad for the whole day (our friends went on a pre-arranged excursion). Joudia and her team couldn't have been more helpful - continuously asking how he was and if he wanted anything to eat/drink.

I would say that the only down-side is that you have to negotiate the narrow streets teeming with scooters to get to the main square, but it is only a 15 minute walk, and that is part of staying in Marrakesh. If you don't want to experience Moroccan life, then stay in an impersonal 5 star hotel, but I would recommend a stay at the Riad Faiza anytime.

Room Tip: First floor rooms seemed to be quieter than ground floor.
