Description: PEPE NERO Restaurant Marrakech : A place of flavours on motion where the senses are constantly coddled Khalid and his team represent the same soul of a single ingredient: Excellence. This where I devote myself body and soul to my passion: cooking We strive to always be precise in our gestures, attentive to the oven, skilled with knives, a sharpened sense of smell, an eye to the market, intransigent with the quality of ingredients and demanding in the kitchen. The battle I fight every day with my team is the oldest in the world:That between the hand and fire.We created the sort of restaurant we would like to find ourselves..Pepe Nero was born to engage and satisfy our passion : Taste, without any constraints or formalisms, with simplicity. But not only. We believe that there has been a generational change in customers who are rather apprehensive of locations that are over formal. With this new role we want to clear away taboos and bring haute cuisine into step with the times.

“Beautiful setting for good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

We had just arrived in Marrakesh and used TA to find somewhere close by for dinner. I'd recommend booking as we were lucky in getting the last free table. The restaurant is hidden down an alleyway but is well signposted from the main road. The inside is beautiful and serene. Staff are friendly with the Moroccan dry sense of humour. We were served free champagne cocktails and amuse bouche before the meal.

Though the restaurant is mainly Italian it does offer a few Moroccan dishes, which we chose to sample the local food. I ordered a lamb tagine which was delicious, my favourite meal of the trip. A huge portion of tender lamb with chickpeas and sweet spicy flavours. The tagine was served with bread and there was no couscous available, however we came to realise that was common. My friend asked if they could make a vegetarian tagine (off menu) and was presented with a plate of vegetables, however when she complained they brought her a pasta dish and did not charge for both. Desserts were tasty but nothing special.

The prices are well above what you would pay in the main square but you get what you pay for - the setting, the service and the delicious food.

“One of our best meals in Marrakech. Beautiful Italian comfort food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

Very hard to find so ring the restaurant and they will have a guide come and get you from the square. Be prepared to tip. This was one of the most expensive meals we had in Marrakech but well worth it. We are a family of 4 (teenage children) and ate hand made chicken ravioli in 4 cheese sauce (sensational) we ordered another it was so good, home made tagliatelle with tomato and basil sauce (amazing) and boys order steak and vegetables (amazing also). Desert was chocolate soufle which was so good no one would share and apple tart. Price or 4 including drinks $200au. This restaurant was a welcome delight after moroccan food.

“loved this restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

Decided to find the restaurant in the daylight on Friday as our reservation was for Sat 23rd Nov 2013. Good idea as it is difficult to find but well worth the trouble. We were given our lovely table by the fountain. Very romantic setting. The service and the food was excellent with nice little extras like a welcome drink served in a champagne flute and tasty amuse bouche.
Would highly recommend as this was one of our favourite restaurants in Marrakech

“Closed on Monday! Heavily booked on Tues- but we squeaked in, thankfully.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

Yes this is indeed one of the better restaurants in Marrakesh. After a week it was a relief to eat something other than Moroccan and the Italian option was superb. The starter Eggplant Parmigiana with Tuna and Mozzarella was amazing, so packed with flavour. I had taglietelle bolognese for my main at it was good but needed parmisan. My wifes chicken & Pecorino was also very very good.

The extra touches of Proscetto (sp?) and hors d'oeuvres and general level of service warrant a clear 5 stars.
