“Simple, clean, good price, helpful staff”
Reviewed June 15, 2014 via mobile

We stayed in this Riad for 5 nights
The Riad is simple but I didnt feel we needed much more. We didn't have a TV in our room which was a blessing. The wifi in our room (top floor double) was poor so we often went out doors...that was the negative. The positives now: lovely freshly cool breakfast. Dinner was optional but when we did order it was lovely traditional food and a very reasonable price. Decor was good, clean, fresh. Small plunge pool type thing. The owners advice was invaluable, she also arranged a few excursions to the waterfalls and dessert overnight stay....all her recommends were really good and fairly priced .my one big bear was the road is hard to find, it's a 15min walk to the main square and a few of is residents all struggled even when using the GPS from our iPhones and some nearby streets are poorly mapped. Other than location being tricky it was a lovely stay
The staff were very helpful and accommodated where possible

This is a tough review for me as it was an unusual stay. First, I've tried to be fair with the rating (3 star instead of 1 or 2) and even though I was very disappointed with the quality of this Riad, it wasn't all the owners fault. My wife and I stayed here at the end of our 1 month trip, during which we stayed at quite a few Riads and had a good idea of value for money and what to expect from a Riad. We booked this Riad as a secret hotel from hotwire and it was sold as a 4 star, therein lies the problem... expectations! This is no 4 star Riad by any stretch! It's around hostel quality, I've stayed in hundreds of hostels and if that was was I was looking for I would have given this a 4 star rating (like many of the other reviews). To make a long story short, our bed was broken (one side dipped way down at the feet, the other at the head), we had a dirty napkin in our bed under the covers, showers are banged up, the rooms are tiny and bare, everything is basic... The owner is very nice and very friendly (she doesn't speak English, but tries). The Riad is impossible to find on your own, but it felt safe from outside problems, although the rooms aren't especially secure (windows don't lock). Breakfast is normal, no complaints. In short, if you're looking for a budget option (think hostel quality with private rooms) this is fine, although you can find this quality everywhere within the medina, with a more convenient location. If you're looking for something nice and comfortable, or relaxing, you will be disappointed here!

Room Tip: Look at a few rooms before paying, some are bigger and better than others. Also, check the beds, our...

We just come back form Marrakech - and it was fantastic. The riad we stayed in is very nice hosts are very friendly and helpfull.
The Riad is very hard to find so your best bet is to ask local boys for the help and have a change in your pocket - btw dont feel offencive when they ak you for the money.
The riad is located in old city and will give you opportunity to expirience the real Marrakech.
Dont worry when you get lost - we were getting lost old the time till the moment when we started to use the main roads.
Big market place in the morning is full people selling staff in the night times changes to market where you can try the best food ever.

We enjoyed our stay at this Riad. The hostess was friendly and helpful. She recommended two places to eat locally - one was a simple BBQ place that was cheap and friendly and the other was an elegant restaurent - that was a lovely dining experience. The riad is hard to find (like most places in a walled city with unnamed streets). I suggest you walk the way the cars travel and memorise landmarks. Until we memorised the way - we just accepted that we needed to pay someone to show us the way. One of the teenagers "adoped" us and helped us several times for a couple of dollars. Definitely agree that it is best to book the driver to take you there - when you have your luggage, as he can get nice and close to the riad. He is more expensive than a standard taxi but he drives closer, is helpful and trustworthy. One aspect I liked about this riad was being near to the locals and seeing people go about their daily lives and shopping where they shop, etc. It was hot weather when we there so we used plunge pool nearly every day - it was clean. The wi fi worked very well most of the time but was down a couple of times.

Room Tip: We had the large room upstairs- it had enough space for three.

We booked this via hot wire website. It was described as a 4 star property by the Hotwire.com site which was very misleading. They give examples of the very good chain of hotels and boutique hotels. Because it is a hot deal the name will be revealed only after booking and hence it was our mistake that we booked this thinking it will be a 4 star hotel and ended up with a basic Riad.
We read trip advisor reviews which were 4 star quality and thought should be ok. But we were very disappointed. We were given the biggest room in this 5 room Riad on second floor, we did pay extra for the room. We were the only guests that day. Our daughter could not play on the floor as it was very dirty with lots of hair stuck to the carpets. Despite the heating the room was freezing. Next thing was no hot water. First day was Luke warm and then next morning no hot water. I spoke to the lady who runs this Riad, all she said was not hot water? Then after 2 hrs still no sign of hot water nor any alternate arrangements made for us. Although she knew we had a 11 month baby and it was a very cold day. Then after another hour we went and asked again then she said she has called someone to repair. We waited all day and by 4 we could no longer bear. We had wasted one full day on our 5 days trip just waiting for hot water in this so called 4 star property so booked into Adam Park Hotel and moved out of this horrible place. When we went to tell her we r leaving, she said there is hot water now which was still not there! Our holiday was a lot better after moving to the hotel.
Next was food. On day 1 lunch was cooked as we requested and I must admit it was good. Then next morning complimentary breakfast was very basic. We were served just 2 different breads one each, juice and coffee. I had to go and request for more bread.
The hotel description said complimentary toiletries, again that was some liquid soap in a dispenser.
Very few positives--location walkable distance from the square but not very close, one can easily get lost. The owner came across as very friendly but was not very helpful. The Riad taxi driver was very helpful, he showed us the way to medina but he could not speak English.
All in all it was just a basic B & B in Moroccan style decor and no way near 4 star and we must
say we were taken for a ride by the Hotwire website and our money wasted!!

I stayed here for 9 nights and had an absolutely wonderful times. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner and we found breakfast to be all that we wanted (fresh bread and crepes and fruit on occasion). We ate in the Riad once and it was honestly the nicest food we had whilst in Marrakech.

On the subject of location which I know some others have mentioned - It is tricky to find but go to Marrakech and almost everything is tricky to find! Once you've done the walk once or twice you'll have no trouble finding your way back.

I think we were in the smallest room in the Riad and it is honestly very small with enough space to walk down the side of the bed to get in but the owner did offer to move us to a larger room when one became available. We turned down the offer as the room was all we required and we'd travelled fairly light.

Overall I couldn't have asked for a nicer, small, friendly riad to stay in on my first visit to Marrakech. Absolutely love.
