Luckily, we found this little gem when looking through Tripadvisor for some ideas for where to go. We wanted something away from the tagines and couscous and the reviews indicated that was possible here! Our driver was not aware of Amaia but managed to locate it. It does suffer from its location as it might struggle to attract the passing, uncommitted diner. When we went, there were two young women sitting outside on the terrace area and the interior was deserted which was a shame.

The proprietor was very friendly and helpful, the range of dishes interesting with its blend of European/French and Thai/Oriental influences. (Unlike reviews of some other establishments, our steaks were really giood!) There is a good choice of wines by the glass as well as bottles - local and French and reasonably priced. We were really pleased to have found Amaia and would happily go back again whenever in Marrakesh.

My partner and I had dinner at Amaia on our first night in Marrakech. The beef was delicious and the service was efficient and friendly. Given the reviews on this restaurant I was expecting it to be busy but surprisingly it was very quiet for a Saturday night. Overall a great dinner

Thank you Kara for your nice post on tripadvisor.
Thank you for enjoying our food and service.
As for "a calm saturday night"....We were full after you left! Moroccan & french people do have dinner more late than english people...
Kind regards

This was the best food I had in Marrakech, plus, it was a great little restaurant, decorated really nicely with good music and customer service. The bill overall was 40 Euros for 2 people with wine and desert.

We found the food to be of very good quality, exactly as we liked it.
There service was excellent. We were served very courteously and the staff also explained the dishes very well.
The restaurant is very well decorated, so the environment is good. We took some pictures of the decor.
Having come from London, we are more used to non-smoking restaurants. So on that point, we would like to make one suggestion. The suggestion is to have a screen between smoking and non-smoking sections of the restaurant.

Thank you Rakesh for your nice comment on Amaia.
We try to do our best for our clients, so your remark about the non smoking area is in our mind.
Tobacco is a real problem with a little restaurant like us!

A family outing, with kids of 9 and 13years old. Small, friendly restaurant where they speak both English and French. Excellent selection, on a well balanced menu to suit all palates. Good for the adults and good for the kids. Kids voted the hamburgers amongst the best ever. Parents were impressed by the excellent asian influenced dishes. There is a no smoking area at the rear of the restaurant, which is quite a rarity in Morocco, and pleasant to find when you can.
We shall definitely return.
