“Beautiful, relaxing, hospitable, highly recommend Apple Gardens Villas!”

Although the villa is located slightly outside of the city, I would recommend this villa! The booking process was fab, the owner Chris sent through a comprehensive guide - including prices and things to do. We had a good chat on the phone before our trip and he gave us a good insiders view on Morocco. We were a family of 4, with two boys ages 13 and 10. Out driver, Hassan, met us from the airport and waited for 2 hours for us (getting through the airport was a little longer than we had expected!) On arrival we were met by Soufiane, who showed us around. It is even more beautiful than the pictures, with the garden full of lemon trees, the view from the roof of the house is just lovely - a taste of real Morocco outside of the tourist areas of the Medina and central Marrakech. The villa was lovely and cool, clean and welcoming. The pool was lovely - a little cold in April, but still usable. We had a maid prepare wonderful breakfasts every day for us and did a BBQ for us too - she was great and the food was incredible! We had a wonderful 2 weeks here! We would have been a little lost had it not been for our wonderful driver Hassan - Marrakech can be hard to navigate and quite a shock for those unaccustomed to haggling, so to have Hassan guide us through everything was brilliant. We had a lovely day out in the Atlas mountains, we stopped and had food with a Berber family that Hassan arranged and had a guided tour through Setti Fadma in the Ourika Valley, stopped for dinner in a palace with the most incredible view! Just a wonderful day that we will treasure for a long time. We wanted a relaxing 2 weeks, which is exactly what we had! I was worried that we had booked somewhere too far out of the action of the city, but am so glad we booked here, I think that staying in the Medina would have been hectic and hot and if you don't have your wits about you it can be quite stressful - especially with 2 children in tow. This option was perfect for us, relaxing by the pool with a bbq and glass of wine, in the evenings often popping out to buy tagine from the local restaurant, or eating in the hotel (on Saturdays they have traditional music, highly recommend that too!) This location is a reminder that this is definitely Africa, listening to the sound of the birds chirping, and as the huge african sun set, a chorus of crickets and the faint sounds of the call to prayer echoing across the city. A stunning holiday, authentic and life changing for our kids. Can not thank you enough, Chris, Hassan and Soufiane for such a wonderful experience, we will be back!

Our family of six has just returned from a brilliant holiday, to us totally different from other places we have been. Villa has Plenty of space, big pool, lovely roof terrace for sunset drinks. Soufiane (the manager) and Hassan (driver) such friendly and helpful people but it was nice to have our own car and a good driver! We must go again!

“Lovely Relaxing Holiday”

18 Apple Gardens is a lovely villa in a traditional style. We particularly enjoyed the outside space of a large pool and garden and a very nice roof terrace. The villa is on a complex which includes maybe 50 villas and a hotel and is about 35 minutes from Marrakesh. The complex felt very secure and was very quiet.

The villas and furnishing are very nice however could use a little TLC - the handles on the master bedroom en-suite bathroom door kept coming off and the light switch in the master bedroom kept falling off the wall. A previous comment was made that there was no washing machine which is in the outside utility cupboard but there is no key so can only be used when the maid is present.

The maid Layla provided breakfast each day at a cost of 35 Dirham per person per day and it was a real treat each morning, however we asked Layla to make a tagine one evening and was charged 200 Dirham which we thought was expensive as the restaurant just outside the complete charged us 90 Dirham and this included salad, tagine and a bottle of water. We used Hussan to pick up and return to airport and also into Marrakesh one day and he was very helpful. However as a word of warning we were sent by the owners a listing of activities to book and we did book the cooking course through Soufiane (the villa manager) who arranged for us to be picked up by taxi and taken to the course, when we arrived at the course not only were we not booked on but were 3 hours too late, this was not only disappointing as we were looking forward to this activity but a waste of a morning and also cost us 400 Dirham for the taxi ride.

The owners were very helpful in the lead up to the holiday answering my numerous question promptly. Would highly recommend this villa if you are looking for a relaxing time.

Fantastic villa with big private gardens and pool
No washing machine as advertised though and the sofa bed is just two sofas pushed together, fine for our 8 year old boy but no good for anyone older or two people.
About 25km out of marrakesh and 20 minute taxi ride to nearest supermarket so you need to stock up on transfer from airport.
Lovely secure complex though and very quiet

“the only bad thing was having to come home!”
Reviewed January 12, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We have just spent a family Christmas in this villa with our children aged 20, 19 & 14 and what a good choice! Well appointed, easily accessed, lovely situation, secure with excellent staff. We took the option of having Leila cook for us - such a good decision, she's amazing, producing wonderful local meals and looking after us really well. Can only imagine that this would be a little piece of paradise in the summer, it was delightful over Christmas. We are used to Morocco in the winter but if you're not - remember your socks and a warm jumper - it's cold at night if you want to sit on the roof and watch the stars! Definitely recommended - book yourselves in!

“The entire family loved this place and we are definetely going back...What a wonderful vacation”

This was a last minute holiday (technically our honeymoon but with 2 teenagers!)...Arranging the rental was extremely easy and the owner sent us a comprehensive information pack with suggested activities and other useful items (this came in very handy with teenagers!). The owner arranged the airport transfer (Hassan the friendly taxi driver was there waiting for us) and after an entertaining drive through early evening Marrakech traffic we arrived at the villa. We were greeted by the maid and the manager who made us very welcome (the villa was filled with fresh flowers for my wife as a gift from the manager which was a very nice gesture! I wish I could have taken credit for that!!).
This particular villa is probably the best located on the entire complex...It is very private / secluded (open views to the rear, has car parking space near to it and gets the sun in the right places at the right time! Basically that means the pool area / patio eating area can be used all day and in the evenings you can sit out on the roof terrace (very romantic) and watch the sunset over the Atlas mountains.
If you are renting this villa we recommend you hire the maid (not expensive) as she personally looked after us like her own family (massive breakfasts with homemade pancakes, crumpets, eggs, local bread, honey, mint tea, more crumpets, more pancakes, every morning which got bigger and bigger until we realized that we need to leave a little bit of food on the plate!). The maid also prepared the evening meals (she has a little Moroccan cook book which you just point out the meal you want...wonderful chicken / lamb tagines, salads and BBQ's). The maid also does the usual stuff like cleaning, washing clothes (the villa has a washing machine) which made our stay very relaxed (no housework for week!).
My 2 teenage children made 'full' use of the pool and local amenities / shop.
The villa itself is very spacious, well equipped / comfortable with modern / traditional furniture. It has a large tv, satellite, ipod player, etc. (we rarely used these as spent most time outside). Each bedroom is large, well furnished and has a separate bathroom, the lounge and dining area are comfortable (didn't use this much as outside mostly!). The outdoor dining area was well used however!
Some days we just lazed by the pool (it got cleaned daily) and watched the sunset from the roof terrace (this roof terrace is also very good for an afternoon shaded nap!!).
Other days we explored Marrakech - we went to a very nice local waterpark which the teenagers enjoyed. We also visited the markets 'Souks' which were great fun to practice haggling. Loads of other cultural things to keep us busy and entertained but a week was not enough to do it!!
Did I mention that Marrakech is not expensive! We spent approx. £150 on food / drink from the nearby supermarket on the second day (local grown produce is great quality) and that basically fed the family all week (we even had to give food / beer away when we left!!).
The memories we have of this vacation are truly priceless...We will definitely be returning to this villa later in the year (we might however leave the teenagers at home!!).

“Amazing beautiful villa”

Stayed at 18 apple gardens at the end of September for three nights. Villa is beautifully decorated, spacious and a fantastic place to stay. Three bedrooms each with its own en suite is extremely helpful for 5 girls staying there!
The outdoor area and pool is lovely, and so well kept and clean. The rooftop terrace is a lovely place for drinks in the evening. The whole villa and area feels very private and safe.
Sofiene the manager was extremely helpful and accommodating, and was there to welcome us, sort our taxis and trips for us, and was always on the end of the phone for us to answer any questions we had.
we used the maid Leila on two days and she was also fantastic. She cooked us an amazing chicken tagine and vegetarian tagine on our arrival. She also cooked us up a meal out of ingredients we had bought from the local supermarket. She did this so quickly and left everywhere absolutely spotless.
I also have to mention Mohammed - our taxi driver for the weekend - not sure if he works for apple gardens or not, but he couldn't have been more helpful to us. Finding us when we were lost, finding all our locations for us and being available to us whenever we needed him. Lovely man.
Overall a fantastic stay for families, couple, friends, and a really clean lovely luxury villa. Will definitely go back. And would definitely choose to stay here again.
