While the Souks are an experience not to be missed, we chose to do our shopping at the Ensemble. We were free to browse throughout the shops (leather, ceramic, lamps, rugs etc etc), with staff answering our questions about how and where things were made without any pressure to buy. Although not the place for a bargain (cheapest is not always the best...) - prices were fair and left with items we will cherish at home. Would definitely recommend visiting the Women's Co-Operative which sells a beautiful range of items. It's quite difficult to find - you have to walk through another shop to get to it (turn right at the main entrance, last shop on the right at the end of the alley). Cafe in the courtyard was nice and relaxed for lunch.
