My daughter and I stayed at this riad in Marakech(Nov. 2013). The staff was attentive and our butler was wonderful. He walked us around the area and made us feel safe. The riad was clean. However, the mattresses were very uncomfortable and my daughter ended up sleeping on a mattress made for a cot. They provide breakfast everyday which was fair. We ate one dinner which we shared and it was very overpriced. You are better off finding a good restaurant nearby. Even though the accommodations were adequate it was much to pricey.

The good: The room was clean. The riad is convenient to Djema el Fna. And Noureddine, the riad's "butler", was wonderful. He graciously walked us to and from the square and a currency exchange when needed. He helped us get oriented quickly to the city. He was available morning, noon, and night to help us.
So-so: The breakfast was okay. We enjoyed the handmade crepes and fresh juice. But not much variety (some goat cheese would have hit the spot). Dinner was good but outrageously priced. For one tagine and side dishes: $50.
The bad: The accommodations did not match the pleasant service. Of upmost importance is sleep quality -- and the bed was rock hard. I'm not a sensitive sleeper. I travel a lot. This bed was awful. I had to sleep on a cot mattress for most of the trip. At almost $400/night, I think that's appalling. The bed should be a non-concern.

Room Tip: We stayed in Amber Gris. The bed was miserable.

Dear Maxonfire

First of all thank you for choosing to stay at Riad Joya in occasion of your visit to Marrakech.

We appreciate your feedback and respect your opinion.

As you have certainly remarked Riad Joya is a unique property, and our
location has been carefully selected after a two years research, to be able to offer our guests only the best experience of the historical Medina, at walking distance from all the main attractions of the Red City.

With the same attention we have selected our team at Joya, and Noureddine is a great example of the culture of service we love. We are glad you enjoyed your relationhship with him and his attentions.

Regarding the breakfast, we serve a variety of 12 fresh items at the table, eggs and additional items upon request. We will be delighted to note your preference for goat cheese for your next stay.

Thank you for your comment on the good quality of dinner, since we strive for guests satisfaction in our food offe ras well, this feedback makes us really happy. We hope that you have enjoyed the service and the possibility to have a good dinner in the peaceful environment of your home in Marrakech, Riad Joya.

Regaring the bed we are very sorry to learn about your disappointment on the quality of our mattress: with the same care that we have selected everything else, we have chosen the soft to firm Simmons beds because they are amongst the top company in their sector, with very high international standards. We understand anyhow that you prefer a different type of bed.

We hope to be able to welcome you to Riad Joya and assure you that upon your next visit we will commit to render your stay a most memorable one in every way.

This Riad is very elegant and tastefully decorated. The suites were lovely and huge with magnificent bathrooms. Service was exceptional - and the people running the Riad went out of their way to help. Excellent breakfasts were served each morning in the gorgeous dining room. An unforgettable experience - I highly recommend this Riad.

This Riad is well located in the Medina. Our Room was large and well appointed. The management went out of their way to help us with questions and places to eat. Breakfast was good but no options for protein. I recommend that this Riad be chosen.

We stayed for 5 nights recently and would not change anything about our trip. From the home cooked meal, to the location, and most importantly the people at Riad Joya, we had the best possible experience. The location is tucked away within the Medina, but still very accessible to all the sites and was also quite peaceful despite how quickly the main square and other crazier parts of the Medina are accessed. The service was top notch. Whenever we left our room, fresh fruit, bottled water, and towels were replaced as well as a general cleaning. There was always someone to greet us when we arrived back and also offer directions, an escort or guidance when we left.

Overall, we would recommend Riad Joya to anyone going to Marrakech with the highest possible regard for both the property and the people.

Having read reviews and looked at location, we could not have chosen a more perfect place. From the efficient and friendly booking process to the welcome at the station, we could not fault the service. The first walk to the main square to get our bearings and find the landmarks to get back through the medina set the tone of our stay. The ice cold slices of melon on our return after our first day's sight seeing, the cool of the terrace for breakfast and the peace were lovely. Independent travellers, we did not take advantage of the escorted walks to restaurants preferring to make our ownway but Noredine's help was offered at every turn. way
