“Nice Place...bit expensive”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2014

The surroundings in this resturant are beautiful, from the outside road it's difficult to beleive that all that lies behind.

The staff whilst very pleasent feel like they are training..but be - fuddled and not very confident and the food is expensive for what it is. The wine I tried was Moroccan and very nice and we thoughrly enjoyed our evening out but over £100 for what we ate and drank we thought was a little steep.

If you want somewhere truly Moroccan go and enjoy the atmosphere.

“Lovely evening”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2014

The Red House is a beautiful traditional riad and the courtyard dining is quiet and elegant. It is a set course, with options in Morrocan or International fare. We opted for all Moroccan choices and let our server recommend selections and a delicious Morrocan red wine. The salad course was memorable, with an array of 13 small dishes with a wide variety of cold fruit and vegetable salads among the most delicious we sampled on our trip. Service was discreet and helpful.
Music is provided during the meal and a belly dancer entertained at about 10:30. Recommended.

“Was OK ..nothing more”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2014

Dined here recently with 4 friends. A bit of a struggle to get to from the main square. The dining room is large and beautifully tiled. The tables are well spaced and the ambience is fair. The service was hit n miss though with some obvious juniors missing the beat when it came to understanding how to serve or what to do. The food was reaosnably priced but nothing extraordinary on offer outside the main dishes you get in any resaurant in Marrakech. Order the smaller portioned menu as the food amount served is large. The wine list was limited but reaosnably priced. They could do without the shrill guitarist who sat there for 2.5 hours playing Morroccan versions of western melodies that were are real offence to your sensibilities. We were almost tempted to pay him to stop playing.

“Thank you TA & Red House!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2014 via mobile

After a long hard day schlepping around the Medina, souks and Jamaa el Fna, we just wanted somewhere pleasant close to our hotel so we could walk there & back for a quiet meal, & be back early to bed on our last day in Marrakech. So a quick search on TA came up with the Red House less than 10 minutes walk away, with some very encouraging reviews.

It was much better than that.

A beautiful room, really friendly and helpful staff and an excellent choice of Moroccan and French food in the fixed price menu.

I had the bisque which was sublime, followed by John Dory and risotto which was also excellent, with a really good Moroccan white recommended by the staff. My wife had Noisettes St Jacques then fillet steak, also excellent, with very good Moroccan red wine.

Maybe we had OD'd on the excellent bread, but we had no room for desserts.

Our accompaniment was a live Moroccan guitar (sorry I don't know the name of the instrument nor the style, but it was very good). Sadly we had to leave before the belly dancers arrived, but a complimentary Armagnac made up for it.

Just a great experience and a fine way to round off our holiday.
