CAfe du France has arguably the best location in Marrakesh and really comes in to its own late afternoon/evening when you can pick your spot to watch the food sellers set up and light their BBQ's.
We only had coffee here as we were told it was the place to go but it was pretty average, i would suggest there were better places to eat but worth a viist none the less as the view is pretty spectacular.

This is the perfect place to sit and watch people when you want to have a rest. The coffee and the tea is good, however, I would not eat here as I found it overpriced for a small portion. Originally I had wanted to sit on the terrace, as I think was the first choice for most people, but the reason why downstairs is so packed all the time is because they told us they charge 100Dirhams just to sit on the terrace. I think that is far too much when there are plenty of other places that allow us to sit on the terrace with just a good a view for the same price as sitting downstairs.
If you just want to sit and have a coffee I would recommend, however, I would not eat here again due to the small portions, price and the service.

Stopped here a couple of times for coffee. Both 2ndfloor and top floor terraces. 1st floor at the froth is best if you want shade as there is no sun protect n on the top floor. Waiters all speak in french and two cafe au lair + coke comes to 70MAD. The dining area is on the right hand side up the stairs on 2nd level whilst cafe is on the left.

Stopped by Cafe de France for a quick mint tea.

The best advice is to walk all the way up to the roof...the top most terrace...and watch the sunset from up there. Perfect view over the entire Jemaa el Fna, and the sunset behind the Mosque is truly beautiful. Listen to the drums, smell the food cooking in the square and drink your tea. Great stop.
