Popped in for a coffee and to let the kids have a rest, 2 small waters and a coffee 45 dirham...no prices advertised so it was our fault. Stay away, the freshly squeezed OJ in the square is better value. Saw us coming I think :)

“Your going for the view, not the food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

One of the best spots to view the main square as the sun sets and the action unfolds. We just went to the cafe part and found it suitable purely to allow us to sip tea and snack while we watched the sunset. The prices were not cheap but the food was good enough and the location makes it worth while.

I would still continue to advise people to go here for a drink to watch the sunset and make your way to the top level where the view is un-interrupted.

“Cafe de France - The best spot to see the sun go down over Djemaa el Fna”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013

We were on the rooftop of Café de France overlooking the square the first Wednesday in September. We got there at about quarter to seven in the evening, walked up about three flights of stairs to the rooftop and got a table and seats at the front. By 7.00 pm the front tables were gone and there were a few miffed people who came in after seven. So time it right and you'll get one of the best views as the sun goes down and the square lights up. Spend about an hour and have a soda. The whole experience cost us 80 dirhams ( four sodas ) and when we left it was dark. The service was good and we could have had a meal but were booked in next door. Great to see and possibly the best viewpoint in the area.

“Not good”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

We had picked this restaurant for our second night in Marrakech as it had a good review in the travel book we had purchased. We sat at a table on the top floor terrace overlooking Jemaa el Fna square in time to watch the change from daytime into the night market. The view was good, but that is about as far as it went. We couldn't choose from the a la carte menu as they didn't serve it on the top floor, all we could have was the set menu. We all had tagines which were swimming in fat and certainly not typical of the Moroccan food we experienced later in the week. The waiter was gruff and unhelpful. We certainly didn't go back even for the view and wouldn't if we went back to Marrakech. It may be better if you dine on the lower floors but we were not prepared to risk it.

“Terrible restaurant (don't know about the cafe)”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

The top floor restaurant gives a wonderful view over Jemaa el Fna but that's about it. Our waiter was miserable and very unhelpful. There was a set menu and we all had tagines which were not nice especially as they were swimming in fat. At 100 dinar per person it wasn't very expensive but we would certainly never go back. The cafe in the other half of the roof terrace had a lot more people in it so maybe we should have gone there??
