“Friendly and charming little riad”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2014

Dar Pamella is about 5 mins walk from the main square just off one of the busiest streets for locals. It's 2 mins from the Berber market and less than that from the 1001 Nights Hammam.
Turn off the Main Street and a couple of turns will find you at the front door of the Riad.
Rachida and her staff are friendly and welcoming, the 5 rooms are newly refurbished, clean and individually coloured and styled in a simple yet traditionally Arabic way. Every room has AC/heating, en suite bathroom and TV and the rooms are attended to every day.
There is a small communal area with comfy sofas downstairs and the daylight streams in from the roof terrace down to this cool and calm seating area. The dining room is intimate and after a simple Marrakech breakfast of bread, butter, jam, honey with tea & coffee (8.30-9.30 although you will be offered some if you get up late), you can browse their small collection of guide books and plan the rest of your day, online with the free wifi if you need it (although the signal weakens as you get away from this area. There is no signal on the roof terrace).
Up on the roof the terrace is secluded and comfortable with seating for everyone outside with a couple of sunbeds. It makes a nice suntrap during the day and if it gets too hot there is a generous relaxing room with low sofa seating, a TV and stereo system to cool off in. Hanging out on the terrace listening to moorish inspired chill out music is just the thing after a hard morning haggling in the souks.
The Riad welcomes all nationalities and ages, you can stay for long or short breaks and if you need assistance with anything (I had my passport stolen) the staff will offer any assistance they can provide.
They also offer hammams in the Riad and day trips out of Marrakech with a local company.
This is not a 4* hotel! but if you want to stay in amongst the action and get excellent value for money in comfortable and friendly surroundings! then I recommend Dar Pamella.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2013

It was the perfect riad to stay in for the week we visited Marrakech. Really close to the main square in the heart of Medina is the perfect location for experiencing he real life of old Marrakech. The staff was absolutely delightful and friendly, the riad is clean has all amenities even a spa that you can use. Decorated with Moroccan art, that gives it a specific local flavor. It felt like we stayed in a Moroccan palace. We loved out stay, and would go again.

For once a marocan owned riad ! Nothing to say, Rachida, the owner, was very kind and friendly as well as the rest of the team...
Location is about 5min walking to the square but, still, in a quite area (by the way you ll need to ask Rachida for a pickup as the location is not eeasy to find).
The riad is quite small but very very clean and well decorated. They open 6 month ago so the place is totally renewed.
Rooms with AC and TV, confortable bed and spacious bathroom. Huge breakfast on the rooftop !
I was afraid by the price (very cheap, only 39euros) because it looked too good to be true but everything was perfect !
My partner booked a hammam spa trough dar pamella: was perfect !!! (cheap, clean and top services)
