Dar andamaure is a real special dar in the middle of the medina of Marrakech. We felt immediately very safe and welcome. We were picked up from the taxi that was arranged by the hotel. Marie and Philipe are two really friendly and nice people who made our stay even more nicer than we imagined. They make you feel at home where nothing is too much to ask and they will help you with everything. The hotel is very nice, the room, the decoration and the terrace are great. Very easy to find in the media.Everything was fantastic!

We chose this place after looking through hundreds of riads on trip advisor as it seemed to offer everything we wanted and it certainly didn't disappoint. We were met at the airport and taken to the edge of Djemaa el Fna where we were met by Phillipe and taken on the short walk to the riad. It is located down a narrow street off a main thoroughfare about 5 minutes from Djemaa el Fna, as soon as we turned the corner we noticed how peaceful it became. We were met on arrival at the riad by Marie who showed us round and served orange juice on the beautiful roof terrace. It was our first trip to Marrakech and we were made to feel very welcome and given plenty of good advice. After popping out to the square for dinner we came back and had an ice cold beer on the roof terrace. We used the pool on the second day to get out of the mid day heat which was very refreshing, the hammam looked very nice but we didn't make use of it as it was hot enough outside. On our second night we sat on the roof terrace with a bottle of wine and watch the sun set which was just magical. We did get woken up by the call to prayer just after 5am but that only went on for a few minutes but I think that's pretty standard anywhere in Marrakech and it all adds to the north African experience.

Marie and Abdullah made the stay here a delight. This is a 'home away from home' in a lovely quiet area - just off the main busy thriving streets. It is an oasis of calm after the bustle of this city.

A highlight for any traveller to Marrackech is the airport transfer provided for free on arrival only, to guests staying at least 3 nights at Dar Andamaure. This made for a very worthwhile transfer- as regardless of how good you are with directions - this takes the stress out of settling in and getting your bearings. Marie greeted us at the bus stop at the main square where the minivan driver delivered us. Marie pointed out key highlights and markers to ensure we could navigate the city successfully subsequently.

The walk to the Riad down the narrow laneways was somewhat interesting - some young men linger chatting - but it was completely safe - an area of families. While it looked a bit seedy - there were no issues.

The Riad itself is newly completed at the start of 2011. From the moment you set eyes of the large door and facade, you feel a sense of calm. The rooms have airconditioning and clean sheets, and minimalist but stylish finishes. The bathroom too is a polished concrete in Moorish style, which is spacious and comfortable. The highlight was the airconditioning after the steamy day in the sun - that we had in the room.

Soap provided - had to ask for the hairdryer - but supplied on request. No shampoo or conditioner supplied.

Breakfast was simple but good. The one bit of feedback would be that the standard of breakfast could be lifted by providing guests with freshly squeezed orange juice. Oranges seem plentiful - given the number of stalls in the main square selling freshly squeezed juice - so it seems a pity that a juice-like mix is used in this city.

The other highlights were Marie's helpfulness in suggesting restaurants and activities to ensure we made the most of our stay in the city and the area. She was helpful and had great recommendations. Kosy Bar turned out to be a fun night of live music in the trendy ground floor bar. She also booked a table for us at the best restaurant in town and drew us a map to help us find our way there. Watch out for young boys who try to send you in the wrong direction - our map from Marie was very helpful and she was a wonderful, kind and caring host.

Abdullah is a kind and gentle man - who took care of me with his home made tea - when I had a queezy spell. They were all very caring and kind, including the friendly and warm house staff - who cleaned our room.

There was free wifi available but reception was best in the communal areas (not the room - this did not bother us). The one thing that this place does not have is a pool - this would be wonderful - adding to the oasis experience. It has a hummum which we did not use - but it is free for guests. Also you can have drinks - a beer etc on the terrace or buy some mineral water too. This makes for convenience.

In all, I would describe this as a homely stay - other house guests mingled and chatted freely sharing their expereinces and stories - there are only 4 rooms here so it is a cosy atmoshpere that is created. I would highly recommend this place as wonderful value of a great Riad standard. This is a hidden gem - in a great central area. You will not be disappointed if you are after a clean and hoemly stay, without frill. For those in search of romance and more facilities - be mindful that it will come at a significant additional expense. This is a great base - a professional service, and more so, a homely stay.

This place should not have an empty room - it is really great value. Riads are the way to stay - I hope you enjoy as much as we did.

This Riad has been immaculately refurbished & the location is excellent. Would thoroughly recommend staying here. The owners Phillipe & Marie make you most welcome & Abdullah is a diamond. Its more like staying at someones house than a Hotel. The square is minutes away & very maniac, whereas the Riad is soooo quiet & peaceful. The rooms have been decorated to a very high standard, albeit on the cosy side. Nice attention to detail. The Riad holds 4 bedrooms & has a balcony, which is superb at sunset with the sun disappearing behind the main Mosque. There is also a very good & cheap traditional restuarant round the corner - ask Phillipe. You can get wine & beer here - they keep it for you in their fridge. Thanks for the great stay

This is a great place to stay.

We were collected at the airport and Marie met us at the square. Just a few mins away from the busy streets behind this door is her beautiful Riad. There's rooftop terrace with sun loungers and seating area to chill out. The rooms are well maintained and cleaned daily. Each morning we had a lovely breakfast with fruit and yogurt, pancake, fresh OJ and T's and Coffees.

Despite its location, it is a quiet Riad so you do get to chill out but you also get to hear the morning mosque calls and birds chirping....but I think this is probably the norm if staying close to the action.

There's a Hamman available for guest.

Marie and her staff are all very helpful.

A true hidden gem in Marrekech!

Just spent 3N at this Riad. A taxi was arranged to meet us at the airport, and then the owner of the Riad met us at the edge of the square to take us to his beautiful home. We walked accross the square and up a side street it became narrow and not very well lit. We would never have found it without him!. My husbands face was a picture and I new what he was thinking .....but when the front door of the riad was opened what a delight. The central courtyard awaits you....clean, light and very welcoming. We were shown to our room (1 of 4) and then up to the roof - to a welcome drink and relax - 360 degree panoramic view. Our bedroom was not very big, no 5* hotel facilities like TV or Tea/Coffee but we were not paying 5* prices. The room was cleaned daily and towels changed daily. Breakfast was typical Moroccan - fruit, yogurt, crepe and bread/cakes served with fresh orange juice and tea/coffee, nothing was too much trouble. It was a delight to return in the afternoon and lay with my book on the beds on the roof and oh so nice and quiet. I have never stayed in a Riad before so I cant compare to others....should I return to Marrakech I would rebook this Riad. Thank you Phillipe and Marie and to all the staff you made my trip special.

I wouldn't normally write reviews but my partner and I have just come back from a 4 night stay at Dar Andamaure and I feel the need to let others know how fantastic this Riad was. This really was a beautiful building (Just as good as the pictures) and with only 4 rooms it had a real cosy feel about it. Maria the owner and Abdulla couldn't have been more welcoming, doing all they could to make us feel at home.

The room, although not big had more than enough room for what we needed and was bright, clean and modern in a Moroccan style. Located miens max from Jamma fna square and the soaks in a quiet street it was the ideal location, however I should point out that the street lighting was not the best and some may not like this if travelling by themselves. Having said that we didn't once feel uncomfortable and if you want Abdulla will happily come out to the main road to meet you at night.

I have nothing bad to say about this Riad, it really was great and I would defiantly recommend it to others.
