Best roofterrace in Marrakech and it serves exquisite Egyptian karkaday tea. Great exhibits too and cheap prints

“Great location with roof top cafe and museum of photos”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

We arrived just before closing but had the opportunity to visit the museum very quickly and arrive on the roof top cafe just as the sun was going down. The staff was very, very kind and we loved the selection of photographs

“A must see”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Amidst a rainy Marrakech day, Maison de la Photographie was the perfect way to spend a couple hours indoors. Just near Ben Youssef Medersa, for a meagre entry fee, you can explore a beautiful old building filled with original black&white photographs of Morocco spanning 1870 – 1950. Be sure to pick up some postcards or larger replicas. The rooftop terrace can be accessed for lunch on days offering better weather.

Old photos ranging from about 1840. In many cases it appears that nothing has changed!! Admission is inexpensive, the staff are helpful and you can take pictures!!

“Small enjoyable museum”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Great small museum with fascinating photos giving glimpses into the history and culture of Marrakesh and region. Helpful staff at entrance, but slow service on the small rooftop cafe.
To get to the museum from the Ben Youseff Medersa: if you were coming out of the Medersa entrance, turn right, then take the third street on the left. The photography museum is on that street.
