What can I say about this place and its owner Mauro? I was planning my 40th getaway with 10 girls - most of who were mums and in much need of a luxurious and peaceful break! The riad was absolutely gorgeous, and the housemaids and Mauro were amazing! Very welcoming, hospitable and more than willing to help a group of girls who were unfamiliar with the hustle and bustle of the Medina. Perfect location, too! Would highly recommend Bo Zin for a good boogie (food not so great and highly priced) and the Piano Bar for a relaxing evening. Be aware - you need to haggle in the souks and bring the asking price down to around 70% of what you finally pay.
Mauro and his staff went to all efforts to make my 40th an extremely memorable one - thank you! I will certainly be staying in riad infinity sea again, and would highly recommend this to all my friends and family. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Welcome Welcome to Riad Infinity Sea, boutique hotel situated in the pulsating heart of the Medina, intimate, calm and tasteful, oasis of pleasure where you will certainly recharge your batteries and discover the right balance between dream and reality. A place where you can totally experience your time as a traveler, placidly sinking into the Moroccan atmosphere, enjoying subtle and penetrating pleasures which will let you experience “ your house far away from home”. The riad is between Bab Targzoulte and Sidi Ben Slimane districts, near Sidi Bel Abes Mosque, one of the most traditional place of the city, where you can deeply breathe the charm of the Moroccan culture and lifestyle. Small shops, bazaars and private residences surround the lively street life and all that represents a kaleidoscope of strong emotions and ancient traditions. You can reach the riad, which is situated inside the Medina, by car: that represents a great logistical advantage because the route is characterized by narrow alleys that are also difficult to be walking through on foot. It takes 15 minutes on foot from the riad to the Marrakech Museum and to the Ben Youssef Medersa and it takes less than 20 minutes to reach Jamaa El Fna Square, Unesco world heritage, which is full of jugglers, water sellers, artists and storytellers. ECO-INITIATIVES Eco-friendly systems are devised in the riad: plans based on energy efficiency, ecological washing powders, eco-save bulbs, solar panels for hot water, commingled material recycling, water saving, fruits, vegetables, meat and eggs coming from biological farms. SHULUQ The smallest room, but at the same time the most intimate and romantic one, thanks to the refined headboard in blue velvet which matches well with the soft cream-colour curtains; these colours and tones recollect the Shuluq, that is to say the wind which blows from the sand desert to the Mediterranean coasts. Natural elements, such as marble and stone characterized by light and delicate tones, have been chosen for the large bathroom, in order to make it the perfect place to relax in one’s private life. FUOCO It has a strong character, such as the element that represents this room. Red and gold are the main colours: they deeply determine its spirituality, partly thanks to the harmonious headboard in bright red velvet. The suite is characterized by constant references to the East, through the lacquered and ivory paintings, which depict life scenes of a faraway past. The bathroom is characterized by the natural light coming from the wide openable skylight window, which brightens up the intense red and gold colours of the glass mosaics that completely cover the portion of the shower. HARMATTAN Dedicated to Africa and to its deep colours, the bed, characterized by extremely modern lines, combines with the traditional African decorations; each object testifies the collecting years of the owners, who are passionately fond of tribal art. The pictures on the walls portray faraway countries, in which nature expresses all its strength. The colour contrast is also clear in the modern bathroom, thanks to the walls covered by bronze plates and limestone coming from Taza. KHAMASIN Large and refined room, characterized by the exquisite light green shades; the exact combination between traditional and contemporary decoration is charming; this room speaks the modern language, without being a conform standard of international design, and, at the same time, it represents the Moroccan handicraft thanks to its components. The made in Italy glass and stones in the well-lit bathroom is definitely a good and exclusive choice. ACQUA Its peculiarity is the lacquered blue bed characterized by a big writing dedicated to travelers: "We travel to lose our way, we travel to meet again: Eventually, we travel…" The screen headboard is unusual: it is covered by beige leather which is in contrast with the blue furniture that recalls the color of the sea, like the water, to whom the suite is dedicated. In addition to this, there are also several photos concerning the sea, the water and the water of the whole world. The well-lit bathroom, entirely made of turquoise and blue glass mosaics and beige tadelakt, gives balance spaces among the shower, the bidet, the water closet and the big rectangular washbasin. TERRA Tasteful and original, it consists of a big diagonal bed and a screen in red-purple colour; behind the screen there’s a functioning writing desk. The suite is also characterized by: the wide corner cabinet with sliding doors, the enormous vase with traditional Moroccan colours on it, the big French windows in wrought iron and with ground glasses and finally the red-purple velvet curtains. On the walls there are pictures of the Big Five and of many more animals that live in the savannah. The wide bathroom, made of marble and beige tadelakt, is lightened up by the light coming from the skylight window. The bathroom itself is characterized by the presence of an enormous shower, which is completely covered by blue glass mosaics. ARIA Situated on the terrace, this room distinguishes itself for the wide Art-Nouveau glass walls and for the beige tadelakt which upholsters the floor and the walls. The suite has a big double bed which, when needed, can be converted into two single beds; there are also two pouf-beds that can be used by other two people. The suit Air is basic and main and it is ideal for those who love the open spaces. The furniture is inspired by the Moroccan "bien vivre" and it is characterized by the following elements: the raw-wall carpet from the High Atlas, the curtains obtained from the Ikes, that is to say the traditional white clothes belonging to the women from Essaouira, the ancient front door, which was recovered from an ancient abandoned palace in Fez and was then renovated thanks to an accurate restoration. QIBLI Comfortable, spacious and tasteful: these adjectives are not enough to describe this suite which has a unique character. This room is inspired by the most famous wind of the desert, the Qibli, which blows hard and tempestuous and brings with it golden murmurs that turn into whirling passions. The large bed is framed by a convex golden lancet arch decoration; the large wardrobe and the curtains are golden as well. The Beni Ourain Berber carpet, the night stands and the small traditional armchairs from Fez give personality to the suite.
