We arrived here mid evening after crossing the pass over the Atlas, without a booking - but no problem, a friendly welcome and a specially prepared meal was on offer. The room was basic and had a few faults (notably a leaking sink and a broken door handle), but we got a comfortable and undisturbed night's sleep and a hot shower. Excellent value, too.

The rooms and facilities at Le Coq Hardi are basic but the location, cleanliness, hospitality are exemplary. You can see that they are investing a lot of time and money to try to improve the facilities and everything that has been completed so far has been done to an excellent standard. As stated in previous comments there is no heating in the rooms so if you are staying in the winter months, there are plenty of spare blankets are provided and the water is nice and hot!
Le Coq Hardi is well placed for the airport and to visit Marrakesh, without actually being in the noise of the town. Morran will happily organise a taxi for you. It is also a perfect place to stay when travelling from Ouarzazate.
There are wonderful walks along the river where you can hear nightingales sing there hearts out. You can also go horse back riding and quad-biking if you so wish or just sit on the terrace have a coffee over looking the river.
They have a lovely swimming pool, which is not heated but wonderful in the warmer weather!! You will also find two tortoise in the garden, one I believe they rescued but the other just made his home there!
The food is wonderful, traditional excellent and good value for money. Breakfast again is fantastic fresh Moroccan style and in the summer served in the garden.
It is very good value for money and all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It can be a real home from home.

Two friends of mine and myself are just back from our trip from Morocco. We had such a great time in that lovely country and we really enjoyed our trip. We stayed in Coq Hardi Hotel, it was clean and great place to spend your holidays. The stuff is friendly and the manager is a very polite person. They were all amazing people which made our stay in their place unforgotten.
Next time we come back to Morocco , we will absolutely go back their and we recommend this hotel for those travelers who want to enjoy the silence after being in the busy souks and the narrow alleys of the old part of Marrakech.

Room simple but clean and has all the basics you need. However, watch out if they offer you an electric heater in your room when it's cold, because they do not tell you that they will charge Euro 5 per day/night for it until you check out!
Food and wine is straight forward but good, wholesome and filling.
Staff seemed genuinely warm and nice with good simple standard.
The price of accommodation and food is really excellent value for money.
