“A Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

This is a great place to stay if you plan on visiting Morocco. For the last three days (17th-31st) my mother, niece, and I, have stayed at the Misria, and we are beyond satisified with the rooms, staff, food, and any additional ammenities.

We opted to stay in one of the Riad's apartments for three nights. The two-story room included two bedrooms, a dinning/living room equipped with a large foyer and sofa, a massive sit-in shower and two bathroom sinks. A chandelier dangles from the master bedroom's intricate ceiling, and the bed inside the room is large (king-sized, I think?) and very comfortable. The second room, though a smidgen smaller, is also nicely put together and it has more than enough space and comfort to satiate the needs of two people. Overall, the apartment is sprawling, impressive, and it vastly exceeded our spacial, comfort, and asthetic expectations. We've stayed in three different hotels during our time in Morroco, and the Misria has been the best by far in Marrakech.

Additionally, the rooms are just one postive element of the Misria. The staff is also extremely acceptional, honest, and attentive to one's needs. The Riad's owner, Michel, is also very welcoming, honest, generous, and extremely helpful. For example, he openly explained the "real" price of taxis and other popular materials that tourist typically obtain in the souks, information that can be extremely helpful when it's time to haggle.

The breakfast and dinner that we ate in the Riad were extremely delicious. The property also offers a terrace view which are perfect to see the sun set and rise, and there is also a quaint swimming pool which is perfect to escape the sun.

Overall, this is a great place to stay in a fine city, and I would definitely recommend the Misria to anyone looking for a pleasant place to rest their head and mind while staying in Marrakech.

Room Tip: Try to arrange pickup with the hotel.

We stayed here for 7nights and just found it the perfect haven to retreat to after a hectic day out in the city! The staff were all wonderful and would do anything for you, and the home cooked food was delicious- a must try!
The riad is in the heart of the Medina- close to the souks and Djemma el fna and yes you will get lost but the staff are always on hand to show you the way and the owner Michel will advise you on the best places to eat in the city.
The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style and there is an excellent Hamman and massage service definitely worth a try as well as an indoor pool.
If you're looking for a place with excellent customer service then this is definitely the place to go!

Riad Misria is located well inside Marrakesh Medina quite close (perhaps too close) to Ben Youssef Mosque, one of the most important mosques of Marrakesh. If you are not used to morning muslim calls perhaps you should avoid this riad. Nevertheless, personel is quite friendly and rooms quite clean and spatious. Beware that some rooms are outside the main building across the street, therefore ask a specific room to stay. Nearby (2 min walk) you can find Museum of Marrakech and Ben Youssef Coranic school (we were told to be quite beautiful but we didn't have time to visit) and, of course, all the souks inside the Medina.

Room Tip: Beware that some rooms are across the street.

We picked this riad to stay after our overnight desert trip. Erika was kind to provide a free pickup from the Djemma el fna, although we did get a bit lost, mistaking the wrong contact person at first! The riad is about 10-15 mins walk from the Djemma el fna, and honestly the way out and in was a bit confusing at first until our second night there. But the riad and the hospitality of Erika and Michel more than made up for that. The room we were allocated was stunning, with an open concept bathroom, bedroom and sitting area. I really loved the decor of the riad and it felt so relaxing and comforting after a grueling desert trip. Riad Misria also had a hamman and indoor heated pool. We did not try the pool but Erika helped prepare the hamman for us (inform them 3 hours before). I wished we could have stayed longer at Riad Misria. Will definitely stay here again should I visit Marrakech again!

We stayed in Riad Misria for 3 nights and we will definitely stay here agan if we do go back to Marrakech.
It is calm and relaxing even if it's incredibly near the souk and just round the corner from Medersa Ben Youssef.
And the living quality is perfect: the rooms are big and incredibly well furnished, with a real Moroccan touch, even if with European comfort.
Michel, the owner, his wife and Erika, the italian manager, were really helpful as a turist guide and as a restaurant connosseur.
A place worth staying.

This Riad is a gem in the very heart of the Medina, and the Souk just around the corner.
The service at Riad Misria, the warmth and hospitality is outstanding!
