Hotel Les Cinq Djellabas
Ranked #83 of 1,185 Marrakech B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed August 14, 2012 via mobile

We found Les Cinq Djellebas as many others did, through another website promoting a discounted rate. Les Cinq Djellebas is based about 25 minutes from
Marrakech centre and airport. The road out to it certainly gets interesting as you get nearer, the tarmacced roads turn to desert and rocks. Upon arriving though, it is absolutely bliss. The complex is small with only 10 accommodation huts.

From the moment we arrived, the staff could not have been more helpful. From taking our suitcases to our room to looking after us when we felt a wee bit under the weather. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

The complex itself has a lovely pool which is quiet for most of the time. The pool is stepped at each end at just the right level to allow you to lie in it and sunbathe. The sunbeds are also proper beds and the complimentary sunhats are a plus.

The huts themselves are luxury with high quality fittings and plenty of space. The bath was particularly spacious.

Meals were excellent however it can get a little repetitive if you are there for an extended period. Also, portions are huge so don't let your eyes get the better of you!

A wonderful stay overall!!

This hotel is so wonderful we're already planning a return. From the moment we stepped into the courtyard we knew everything would be peaceful and trouble free. The staff are utterly friendly and cannot do enough for you. Javid was just exceptional. Breakfasts in the garden. Lunch in the beautiful restaurant. The attention to detail is endless. Our lodge was just perfect and the pool is stunning. I really cannot fault our 5 day stay here. Truly an amazing oasis.

This hotel is wonderful. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. They are so friendly. The food in the restaurant is superb. Try the amaretto brulee! Our room was comfortable and quiet. Marrakech is a real culture shock, very busy and as first timers a bit over whelming so it was great for us to come back to our hotel.

We cannot fault this hotel.

Apologies for the cliché in the title, but it really is. We stayed for 7 nights and had an amazing time. Les cinq djellabas has a perfect pool, beautiful gardens, lovely rooms and fabulous staff.

We had breakfast under the olive trees every morning - a perfect way to start the day - and waited on hand and foot by the fantastic staff (I think it was Hamed in the mornings).

We spent 3 days chilling at the hotel and went out and about on the others. We strongly recommend the Berber 4x4 tour - ask for Adil as your driver if you can!

Supper, as others have noted, was prepared to order and was absolutely delicious! Especially the lamb tagine and Moroccan salads. Our waiter, Isham, made sure we had anything and everything we could want.

We cannot recommend this hotel more - it's a prefect balance between the hustle and bustle of the medina and a relaxing poolside holiday.

My wife and I enjoyed a nine night stay and had the most fabulous time, luxury and calm at its best. The accommodation is interesting, practical and luxurious. The staff are well trained and available to take care of any of your needs, yet not imposing in anyway, if you need just ask and it is arranged. Being a small hotel with 10 large chalets-huts with intriguing architecture, there is always peace and quiet and somewhere to be alone if that is your wish. The food is outstanding, although the menu is small but the quality excellent. The owners restaurant in the Medina is interesting and has a wider menu. We will be returning to this Oasis. Thank you to the staff and management of the hotel. Good luck with the future.

Room Tip: go for the upgrade, slightly more space and a huge bath to sit and relax in.

After a very busy 9 days into our Moroccan adventure, this was the PERFECT ending to our vacation. It is truly paradise, an oasis of zen located just 15 minutes drive outside of the Medina. The rooms are beautiful and very well appointed, lots of space and very comfortable. The bath products are amazing, there's a hair dryer in the room, bottled water was replenished daily. Staff is friendly and helpful (if not a little slow with drinks by the pool). The decor of the place is stunning. Pool was fabulous, surrounded by very comfortable chaises (with towels and sun hats). Food was fabulous, both the Moroccan-style breakfast and the delicious tangines at dinner. Would go here again in a heartbeat!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The rooms / villas / huts are extraordinary and very comfortable. Our suite was decorated to the highest standard and absolutely spotless. There are some lovely touches, such as bottled water in the rooms being replaced every day without charge. Linen is excellent quality and toiletries plentiful.

Food was exceptional, fresh and very tasty. Service was faultless and pricing reasonable.

Every morning, breakfast was served at a table of our choice under the trees, with continental offerings, Moroccan pancakes and fresh preserves. I particularly liked having my own flask of coffee, ensuring it would not be cold on the second cup.

Nothing is too much trouble for the professional and well educated staff. Every day we were asked if we required a car to take us anywhere, and if not, would we like them to arrange a massage or beauty treatment? Both are highly recommended. The transport was safe and the Driver was knowledgeable and friendly. The masseuse was very firm but excellent.

Lunch and drinks were always available and dinner was of wonderful quality. The dessert pastilla was fabulous!

The nicest touch came on our first evening after a delayed flight. Dinner had been prepared and kept for us and was served in our suite within minutes of arriving, complete with freshly baked breads, cold Casablanca beer and olives. The tagines were delicious (despite it being midnight). Dishes were whisked away as soon as we had finished our meal.

The only point at which I would warn any other traveller is this - if you arrive late in the evening, do not be alarmed at the taxi ride! The hotel is out in the Palmeira and a little isolated, which in the dark was slightly disconcerting, but absolutely worth if once you have arrived. Wonderful break.
