“wonderful, clean, family run restaurant, very accommodating staff”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

great place to eat. reasonable prices, clean inside and you can watch your food eing prepared.
Delicious freshly squeezed juices and the best pancakes ever!
Pizza is delicious and the brochettes were the best we ate.
Family friendly - the staff gave my kids extra juice at no extra cost.
Woudl definitely recommend and a good stopping point just outside the medina, and on the way to jardin majorelle.

“Cheap and tasty, great combination!”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

A lovely, small restaurant with excellent food and friendly service.

Althought it's located close to the Koutoubia Mosque, we actually had a hard time finding it. We couldn't see it the first time and the second time we happened to walk past it and I suddenly saw on a piece of paper 'Chez Yassine'. When you come from the Mosque it is located on your left side.

Tagines were only priced at about 30 dirham and they offer combinations you don't normally find at e.g Djemaa El-Fna square. Tagine portions are quite small, especially for dinner, so my friend had to order a second one. He didn't mind though as it was so yummy, he actually became lyrical about it.

As for me, I ordered the mixed skewers and they were grilled on a charcoal grill next to the door. It includes 4 skewers, warm vegetables, fries and bread for about 45 dirham. Normally, I have a hard time finishing my plate, but here I just finished the lot. It was that good!

Other food on the menu includes pizza's, pasta's panini's, ...

“You feel like a local here!”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

As a tourist in Marrakesh, you, at times, get food and a service which is a little disappointing, e.g. in the main square the food in some booths are overcooked and the service treats you like cattle. (Not all, just some). We found Chez Yassine and it was so welcome. It became our local luncheon! Lalla, the manager and cook is sweet, patient and welcoming. You can relax and not feel that you have to go as soon as you have taken your last bite! Food is fresh, which takes a little longer but is very worth it! And the price is very reasonable, about 4 GBP with drinks. And that's with 2 mains! Mains are not big, but its cheap enough to get another and another! We even came really late and hungry and she still made us food after we shared some with her and her lovely colleague. If you are in the area, go and eat at Yassine. Its just what you need

“Generous in kindness not in portions size!”
Reviewed December 31, 2011

If u seek for a fast kebab u do not really matter the place which despite the reviews I read here was not much. After all people were very welcoming so we actually ordered what the staff were having for lunch. Veggies where good and the kebab chicken ok if only the portion we had wouldn't have been split in 1/2 per dish!
Absolutely overpriced considering u can eat a whole roasted chiken for 80 diram in the square. That would be what I expect if I order a child menu.

“Rabbit!”
Reviewed December 23, 2011

A small cafe/restaurant with limited seating situated on Avenue Fatima Zohra (near to Dar el Bacha and therefore handy for guests of the riads on this street and Rue Bab Doukkala also), and only five minutes walk for visitors to Djemma al Fnaa.

Not fancy by any means but good food, freshly prepared and at a very reasonable price. The usual fare of pizzas (thin crust and very tasty) are on the menu along with various pasta dishes - chicken liver spaghetti, fresh salmon tagliatelle and lasagne. The chef/owner also prepares omelettes, paninis and crepes, as well as salads. My favourite? The clue is in the title - rabbit tajine in a sultana and caramelised onion sauce. With chips (frites/French fries). Enjoy!
