My husband and I stayed here at the end of January. We were initially put in room 11 overlooking the street but it was noisy with traffic throughout the night and kept us awake. It was also a little shabby. The lovely lady at reception offered us a different room which was facing into the courtyard, this was peaceful, comfortable and much nicer generally.

We enjoyed the breakfast, as described in previous reviews. The waiters were very polite and willing to refill the delicious coffee.

The location of Du Pacha is good, in the new city but just a 30 minute walk to the medina with interesting sights along the way. We would sometimes get a taxi back at night which was very cheap at 20 dirhams.

We found the Moroccan people to be pleasant and friendly and really enjoyed our 5 day trip to Marrakech.

I would stay at Du Pacha again, but would probably visit in the springtime as the mornings and evenings were a little chilly in January.

I'm writing this review belatedly given one of the posters who was critical and also noted that positive reviews should be distrusted.

Husband and I are independent travelers and have been so for over 30 years. We have stayed in some wonderful places and others that are truly disgusting.

I stayed in Du Pacha last year, with 3 separate stays as we returned to Marrakesh between forays to other places in Morocco (we were in Morocco for 6 weeks).

We returned to Du Pacha each time as we found it a very good value hotel, located in a quiet, pleasant neighbourhood with some pleasant restaurants within a reasonable walking distance. The rooms we had were comfortable and clean, the breakfast was modest. We thoroughly enjoyed the little lounge. I actually have recommended this hotel as I found it a very pleasant change from using riads where we only came into contact with other tourists. Du Pacha's clients appeared to be Moroccan business people and families and this we enjoyed.

Obviously it was different and lacked the atmosphere, cuisine, ambience that we had experienced in some of our riads but with this 6 week trip we liked the authenticity of Du Pacha.

We stayed 16 days at Du Pacha Hotel. 3 would have been enough in Marrakech. The weather the first week is what saved us. The 2 ladies in the reception, and the cleaning lady were all very helpful, smiley, and friendly. I needed a reading lamp and she took the one on her desk and gave it to me. How nice! The downstairs lounge was always too cold and drafty with men smoking up a storm and using the adjacent toilet without closing the door. The breakfast room was freezing and I had to get up and close the window daily because of the drafts. Then the waiter would close them! Breakfasts got to be utterly, insanely boring and monotonous with the same exact French bread, croissant, and apricot jam every single day, but the coffee was usually hot and the juice was excellent. Maybe they could shake things up a bit and serve red jam once in awhile? Or cheese? But, they are not used to people staying there for 16 days. My husband wanted to go back home after four days. We had a quiet room with a long balcony which was nice and overlooked the courtyard with plants, birds, and even a box turtle, even though the view encompassed an unfinished gray brick wall. We always had enough hot water in the funky-working shower and I do love a bidet. The lobby furnishings were worn and looked dirty and I didn't really want to sit down, but the ceilings were beautifully carved so I looked up all the time or at my iPhone. There is only internet on the ground and first floor and the tv had one channel in Arabic and the other was snowy staticky French. Watch out for all the loose runners and throw rugs to trip on in the hallways. We never saw the maids with a vacuum cleaner and the rugs were dirty. They did btw brush them with water and they washed the floors meticulously, but the rugs remained dust filled. We both developed an asthmatic cough and felt awful during our stay. We appreciate where we come from now more than when left and won't be returning to Morocco ever again despite the wonderful ladies in the hotel reception.

horrible hotel where staff are not helpful at all and you feel out of place here as a guest due to all locals going there to watch sport in lounge and all look at you as you go in there. Breakfast was poor and rooms very basic with views of brick walls and building sites. Hassled non stop by taxi and locals they just don't understand no. Would only ever go back to morocco if staying in top hotel as this was worst holiday ever and even paid to come home early which I have never done before

Room Tip: cant give any advice as doesn't seem to be a nice one there!!

We stayed 8 nights for our honeymoon and the staff, although not speaking much Enlglish, were wonderful, the hotel was slightly shabby but neat and tidy and pretty and we will absolutely go back again

After initial night in a nearby 4-star lacking in-room internet, we walked around the neighborhhood looking for hotel with internet in room. There were none. Many many hotel options in Gueliz, roughly similar in price and style, all that we saw without internet in room. du Pacha was the exception and also coincidentally at 30 euros was the least costly. Room facing courtyard, computer on windowsill and voila good wifi. Add comfortable sleeping conditions, shutters, light-blocking curtains, perfect A/C, no street noise and this was a viable hotel. From street, hotel appears non-descript, no kerb appeal, borderline shabby, in the standard riad format, and not modernized. But it met our need: comfortable, good sleeping conditions, and internet. If super clean, with new bathroom and nice shower is important to you, though, take a pass on du Pacha. Breakfast minimal. Staff evenings sat in courtyard talking and smoking which was a little annoying, and were zero help with cabs, although they were friendly.

Room Tip: courtyard nearest office on 1st floor for wifi

This hotel is located near to the very busy Ave Mohammed V, yet is quiet and leafy. Gueliz is a comfortable place to stay, a lovely change after spending all day in the medina. The hotel is welcoming and clean. The rooms are large and hot water is always available. The breakfast was excellent, with good coffee/hot chocolate, juice, bread, jam and croissant.
