My wife and I stayed here for a week in October 2011, great staff , spotlessly clean and good value, only one small fault, the breakfast is same every day, adequate but boring.
Better than many 4/5 star hotels I have stayed in, and we will go back .

The rooms are quite old fashioned, but we payed 30 euros with breakfast, which seems quite cheap for Morocco, so can't complain. The staff were very helpful and polite. There is a nice little courtyard where you can sit and get a beer. All in all, it's a nice little hotel. It's about a 25 minute walk to the El Fna square.

We booked a 3 night stay here and found the hotel charming. It is and old hotel with lots of "character ". The courtyard is especially nice either to relax in the evening with a drink or to soak up the sun during the day or even sit in the shade. We booked haldf board as we were arriving after dar and the price was excellent.
The choice was basic with a choice of 3 items for each of the three courses and it was the same menu on all 3 nights however it was adequate. The breakfast is as previously described in other review i.e orange juice bread, jam and croissant with tea or coffee. This set us up for the day and was fine.
We found the staff to be very friendly a contrast to how others reported staff in other hotels in Marrakesh.
Our room was a double facing the back street, with a small balcony. The bed was very comfortable . We had a bath with a shower in it. The room was pleasant and clean.
The location of this hotel is convenient for the city centre. It is in the area close to the modern sectre, close to Macdonalds! but withing walking distance of the square.Several buses run along the road at the end of the side street where the hotel is located as well as plenty of taxis everywhere.
I would recommend this hotel and would stay again if we ever return to Marrakesh.

We had a great 10 nights staying at this hotel. It was a pleasant suprise as we only booked a 2 star place. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There were plenty of places to sit and have a drink, a guest lounge, a garden, and a terrace to sit and read after returning from a day out. The No1 bus, just a small walk takes you to the medina. The rooms were very traditional, and there was plenty of hot water, rooms cleaned everyday. The breakfast was basic, but very fresh and plenty of coffee or tea, we really enjoyed our stay and would definatley return again.

We really enjoyed staying here. We look for simple accommodation and it had everything we needed and more. 2 big beds, old Moroccan carpets on the floor, a balcony overlooking the street and our very own palm tree. En suite bathroom with loads of hot water - perfect to soak in the back after a long day out in the medina.

The staff were very helpful, and were always there. The room was cleaned daily. We could leave our passports etc in the safe on reception. Breakfast was pain au chocolate, orange juice, and baguette with apricot jam. Unlimited tea or coffee.

The place has a lovely laid back feel, and there's a bar and a TV lounge if you want them.

There's a cambios within 5 minutes stroll which seemed to have the best rates we came across.

We walked or took the bus to the medina - either was very straightforward

We had booked the airport transfer via Travel Republic, which gave us the service of a Medhotel rep - he was great. He had tours on offer but wasn't pushing them - he said he just wanted to make sure we were settled in well and had a good holiday (we booked one and had a great day out in the Ourika Valley), and also answered lots of questions we had about Marrakech. He left his phone number in case we wanted to contact him.

The tortoises appeared when the sun came out.

I'd go there again

Decent hotel in a central location (Gueliz); very friendly and attentive staff; our room (with ensuite shower room) was newly refurbished – comfortable, spotless, with aircon and a tiny balcony overlooking courtyard; continental breakfast included;

The people who work in the hotel are fantastic. The location is great as it's close to the Medina, nightclubs and nice and less pricey restaurants. Its also nice to know that you will be able to get a beer at the hotel.
Looking forward to going back!
