Description: La Cour des Lions is a Moroccan gastronomic restaurant, located on the 3rd floor of the Palace Es Saadi. The Bauchet-Bouhlal family and the Chef Fatéma Hal, famous ambassador of Moroccan gastronomy, invite you to an unforgettable gustative journey through a Moroccan but forgotten cuisine. Succumb to the true Mourouzia’s flavours, long simmered lamb shank with raisins, juice of dates and the sublime Es Saadi Ras El Hanout spice mix: a succulent salty sweet union!

The talented chef and his excellent team of kitchen staff provide a delicious feast of tagines, couscous and artistically presented desserts. The impeccably trained waiters, the stunning decor, soft exotic music, beautiful tableware and very comfortable chairs enhance the dining experience. Very fine dining indeed.

This is the only place where you will find a price tag on everything and if you go on your first day it is very helpful to give you a benchmark of prices and what you should expect to start your bargaining from if you plan to visit the Souk. The spices are sold in sealed containers which is cleaner than those in the streets.

We had been given much hype about this restaurant, which is in a wonderful top floor setting, within a plush hotel complex. The view is wonderful, and the decor is stunning.
Unfortunately the rest fell by the wayside. The Chef tries too hard to be clever, and for most of our dishes it just didn't work.
As you might expect from such plush surroundings you will need a nice full wallet, which will not be money well spent. I don't object to paying a high price for the right restaurant, but my test in such circumstances is would I readily return. I fear that in this case the answer from our company was a resounding "NO".
There are far cheaper and better places in Marrakech.

This is a superb restaurant. It is the first time EVER that we have been in a restaurant where we were the ONLY patrons for the evening. We are not sure where every one else was, and it may be slow in Marrakech, but we had a most wonderful dinner. Mrs. Eastlake ordered the chicken Tangine and I had the Chicken Couscous which was excellent. The Moroccan salad was superb and the selection of French wines was very good. If you want good food and some privacy, this is the place to go - the top of the Es Saadi hotel in Marrakech. You will not be disappointed especially after a day of "shopping" in the square where the word "NO" does not register. This is an excellent choice of a restaurant!!!!
