Staying in Riad Alamir was definitely a great choice! Everything about the riad was lovely. Very close to Jemma El Fna but it was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was fantastic and the rooms and riad were very clean. The owner Stephane was very kind and helpful, he took his time to speak to all of the guests over breakfast and gave us many useful tips and guidelines. We had an early flight leaving Marrakech the last day and even got served breakfast at 5am! Definitely a place to return to :)

The riad door opens and you're welcomed in with warm smiles and sweet tea. Stephane, the owner is a wealth of knowledge about Marrakech and you'd do well to pay attention to his advice- his recommendations felt like being let in on the secrets of the city.

The room was gorgeous, perfectly comfortable and air- conditioned. We felt at home in an instant. The staff are all friendly and eager to help where they can. Breakfast was wonderful, dinner on our last night was truly special- all in all, a perfect stay. But it's stephane that takes it that step further, making it a wonderfully special place to stay.

We stayed at Riad Alamir for 5 nights in August 2010. We decided to stay after reading the positive reviews on this site & it definately lived up to our expectations. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, as are the communal areas, and the staff are excellent. The owner, Stephane is really friendly and knowledgeable of the area, and can point you in the right direction if you're new to Marrakech as we were. I would say that he went out of his way to make sure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

I would definitely recommend Riad Alamir to anyone planning a visit to Marrakech as its
location is ideal and the relaxed and friedly atmosphere inside is just what you need after a day out and about. A dip in the pool and a mint tea helps too!

It’s taken a while to get round to writing this up and having never recommended anywhere before, I knew this definitely deserved a special mention.

We (three girls) visited morocco in March 2010, which was a brilliant time to go and get some winter sun, as we heard the heat can be a bit much in the summer months. We found this Riad on trip advisor and booked because of the good value and amazing reviews and it didn’t disappoint. We initially were only going to stay for three nights but ended up coming back to Marrakesh at the end of our trip so we could stay again.
After a disastrous journey, we were re-directed to Agadir and were 8 hours late into Marrakesh, Stephan the owner of the Riad kept in touch with us and advised us on what to do and also helped with directions to the Riad- to our French speaking taxi driver. Because it was so late when we arrived he also had made sure we had a snack when got there as everywhere nearby was closed, so we had sandwiches and beer ready for us when we arrived (which was a godsend after such a horrible journey). Stephan and the staff continued to be really friendly and helpful to the point that he helped us barter some souvenirs at the end of our trip- after our rubbish attempts!. We felt totally at home the place was clean and beautifully designed and right by all the action.
I can’t recommend this place enough and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Marrakesh.

I arrived at Riad Alamir early Wednesday morning with a friend. It's situated close to the Jemaa El Fna which is the 'main square' in the heart of the Medina. It takes about 5-10 minutes to walk into the square which is home to snake charmers, street performers, bars & restaurants.

Stephane & his staff greeted us when we arrived. They made us feel most welcome & the Riad felt more like a home rather than just somewhere to sleep. The place is beautifully decked out as shown in the pictures on the website... Stephane gave us a brief on Marrakesh which was informative & useful. The staff were superb & were always very helpful. I loved this place & will be back when I return to Marrakesh..

My wife and I selected this accommodation based on the Tripadvisor reviews, generally the feedback on here is excellent and having recently stayed at Riad Alamir for one week we would wholly agree.
Spotlessly clean and tidy, very polite and helpful staff, great breakfast, proper air conditioning in the room, sun loungers on the roof plus lovely little pool for cooling off, oh yes and a rather interesting pet Tortoise!

The Riad is just a few minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of the old walled city (the Medina) and the Souks etc, however it is tucked away in a very quiet street. Note also, the Riad is located to the west of the Media, walking distance to the modern parts of the city (Ville Nouvelle, Gueliz etc). This really is great option for accommodation, we would have no hesitation recommending it to our friends and family. Our only suggestion for improvement would be a mini refrigerator in the rooms, but this really is a very minor criticism and the staff were very happy to provide ice for our drinks.

A few general tips;
A good place for food can be found just two minutes from the Riad, right hand side of Rue Fatima Zohra (if walking north from Place Foucault), has an upstairs terrace looking out over Koutoubia Mosque area.
Favourite sights, Majorelle gardens and Medersa Ben Youssef. A really excellent place for a glass of wine is Kosybar (Place Des Ferblantiers).
A Celeche ride is worth it, good fun. We also visited Setti Fatma (Ourika Valley) a pleasant day out however the village was very congested and the waterfalls mediocre.
Our one and only negative of the week was poor treatment at one of the food stalls in the square (Jemaa El Fna)……we were warned!

Generally, we found Marrakesh to be a fascinating city, safe, cheap, very easily accessible (from the UK), a really interesting alternative to a long weekend / city break in mainland Europe.

Fantastic and faultless three nights at Alamir for our first, but not last trip to Marvellous Marrakech.

We couldn't have asked for more - Warm welcome and transfer, fantastic service, super clean, gloriously effective air con... and chocolate cake included in a fab breakfast!! Will recommend and return (possibly in a cooler month).

Many Thanks to everyone at Alamir

Riad Alamir is a place which we wanted quite at the same time intimate and friendly, close to the excitement of souks and far from the noise, easily accessible and nevertheless nested everything at the bottom of an alley of the Medina. Placed within one of its most prestigious districts, it is in two minutes of a taxi and in seven minutes on foot of the famous Place Jemaa El Fna. ... more   less
