The atmosphere in the ryad is very friendly. There is a ambiance crated by the owner - he makes an extra effort to give general advice about Marrakech - food, places to visit, safety and is well informed about the history of Morocco. The staff are very hospitable and would do anything to make you feel welcome. The mint tea is lovely and is a real treat after a long walk in the maze of the souks in the old town.

Perfect location under ten minutes walk to Square but in a very quiet back lane. The owner arranged an efficient transfer from the airport, or you could take a taxi for about 80 Dirham. then a barrow man to guide you the last couple of minutes.
We were welcomed with mint tea and a brief introduction to the area, plus information on how to get to some places we wanted to go. The room was clean, had a bath, and the airconditioning worked (unlike many places advertised as having air conditioning) . Breakfast on the roof terrace was very good quality for Morocco and was accompanied by the owner chatting with everybody to check all was well.
The owner will arrange tours, cooking lessons etc if you want
There were no downsides for us

The riad Alamir is in the medina of Marrakesh, very near the mosque Koutoubia. It was a little difficult to find it but it was so near to all the places we wanted to visit. The riad's patio is very nice. The room was clean and its decoration was absolutely arabic (no door in the bathroom). The breakfast was a satisfaction from the terrace. And the stuff was very kind , smiling and willing to help us. And above all the price was very good.Great stay!!!

Once again,a week in Marrakech left us both invigorated and knackered! This wonderful city never fails to excite and entertain -just accept it for what it is!
Riad Alamir lived up to it`s excellent reputation and is very well situated close to Bab Ksour. It really is very easy to find but I would advise first time visitors to take advantage of the pick-up from the airport arranged by Stephane.
Stephane and Valerie are lucky to have such motivated and friendly staff but I must make special mention of Rachid who was exceptional.
Thank you all and hope to see you again insh`Allah.
