We had great time cooking with Fatima. First she brought us to the Jewish market to introduce us to the world of Moroccan spices. Then she drove us to her house in the suburbs of Marrakesh. We spent about 5 hours cooking, talking and enjoying Fatima's hospitality. One of the most memorable experience in Marrakesh. Highly recommend.

The cooking class was great, it was deffinitely the highlight of my trip to Marrakesh!
I highly recommend it if you are interested in cooking but also in the Morrocan lifestyle. Fatima is great at what she does! When I go back to Marrakesh I will go again!!

I cannot recommend this course enough! My husband and I had a great day with Fatima, it was one of the highlights of our 3 day break in Marrakech. We are not great cooks BUT thought it sounded like fun. We met with Fatima in the morning where we hit the spice market, vegetable and livestock souks to purchase all the required ingredients. Very hands on (get involved in weighing out your produce). Back to Fatima's home a small berber village on the outskirts of Marrakech where you roll up your sleeves and start the preparation for lunch ( with Fatima's expert tuition!). We cooked outdoors in the beautiful garden on hot coals, sipped mint tea and berber coffee at regular intervals before tucking into our fabulous lunch! A full fun packed day! Thank you Fatima!

We booked this excursion on the advice of our Riad and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We were met by Fatima and the other students at the spice shop on the corner of the Jewish quarter at 10am, after showing us all the different spices and describing their uses she then took us to the market where you get to see Filo being made, taste different local ingredients, pick the meat for your lunch and buy the vegetables before being taken back to Fatima's house about 10km out of the city.

Here we spent the day learning to make various Berber dishes (and then ate them!), as well as relaxing in her beautiful garden drinking tea and getting to know the others on the course before being dropped back into the city at about 4pm. It was a very relaxing and informative day and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning to cook Morrocan food.

Booked with Fatima through the recommendation of our Riad owner, and would not have changed the day in any way. We began with visiting the market (or "souk"). An area which up until our booking with Fatima was an absolutely chaotic experience! However, with our local guide was a thoroughly enjoyable one instead. She showed us everything from what spice did what, to how it should be used correctly, and even got us everything we wanted to buy at a seriously low price, especially for a tourist! Next stop was the vegetable and meat market, which was a great experience. On completion, we drove to her own home to conduct the actual cookery lesson. We were greeted with tea and bread to quel our hunger whilst we prepared all of our recently bought ingredients. We cooked a fantastic meal with Fatima's guidance and even stoked our own fires to cook our "tagene" dishes! Would highly recommend (and actually did to a couple in our Riad who went on to have an equally fantastic day!) this as a "must do" day in anybodies itinary whilst in Marrakech. If we could give a higher rating we really would. Thank you Fatima! :-) Ollie and Kara
