This was for us (group of three women the wrong side of 21) an absolutely perfect Riad. It could not be better placed for the souks and Jamaa el Fna square, or better priced - you get value for money!
However , don't go here if you want
a) luxury or
b) you want bathroom privacy or
c) you expect to spend your evenings watching TV and getting drunk!
I would equate the accomodation with a B & B, lovely unusual rooms, roof terrace, gorgeous living room, and of course the open riad courtyard. It has narrow stairs with little lamps to light the way and all the rooms have an individual charm, although there are parts of it which are a little careworn and could perhaps do with painting/mending, this was for me part of the charm though.
You can ask the staff for bottles of water as you need them or a cup of peppermint tea, and they will do their best to assist with restaurent choices and maps etc.
A previous visitor moaned about the 'open' bathrooms, calling them 'disgusting'. Personally we didn't care - there is a wall built to separate the washing part of the room but it doesn't have a door. This suited us fine because it meant we could carry on chatting whilst doing our ablutions!
If you like to sit on the loo with the door firmly shut this is not the Riad for you!!
All in all we all said we would go there again (tomorrow would be nice), it was lovely and we had a fantastic time, thank you Dar Ihssane staff for everything!

Room Tip: the downstairs room I stayed in (double) for one night didn't have A/C, but it is much cooler the lower you go so that wasn't a problem. Night time temperature was approx. 18 degrees though.

This riad is located within a short walk to djemaa el fna square. The best thing about this riad is the staff as they were always smiling and helpful. You can feel the real Moroccan hospitality in there. They were also giving us free moroccan tea in the afternoon on the top of the free breakfast. The room was very clean. The only thing that i didn't like is that there is no separation between the bathroom and sleeping room as it was a 4 bed rooms and you could hear almost everything.
Other than that, this is a great riad that I'd recommend to everybody.

Our family of four had a wonderful time at this relaxed hotel. The kids loved wondering all over the riad and relaxing on the roof terrace. We all loved the cool architecture, especially the blue bathroom and open stone walled shower and the kids room. The staff were very very helpful, and we're especially talented at helping us navigate the souks. Breakfast was in the courtyard and was a very relaxed affair, usually with fresh juice, bread and pancakes and a choice of tea or coffee. All in all a wonderful stay at very very reasonable rates.

Room Tip: Range of rooms to choose from. Not all have glass windows, so we were nervous our noisy kids would wake everyone up.

Our family stayed in "Dar Ihssane" for 5 nights. We had a great time and also our children (13 and 11 years) enjoyed it very much there. We booked two rooms with a connection-door; that was very convenient for us. The service was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. Also the breakfast we enjoyed very much. We could do all sightseeing by foot. The Riad is in the heart of the Medina but very quiet.

Had the most wonderful time, definitely considering going back. Staff were friendly and more than helpful..even took the time to show us how to make Morrocan Tea! All arrangements made by the hotel via email went without issue, from picking us up from the airport to a trip to the atlas mountains (though this can be found cheaper if you shop around).

It was an experience showering in your room with no curtain.....especially when travelling with a friend, but we got round this and didn't find it an issue.

Food was lovely, fresh orange juice, bread and we looked forward to the little surprise we got in the form of a Msemen or Beghrir.

As I said before, I am definitely considering going back to this Raid but this time it would be for longer!!
