Food great, service great but the environment is the reason to go especially if you are not staying nearby.

“A lovely experience for a first time visit to Marrakech”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Ksar is a good restaurant for anyone on a first visit to Marrakech. They serve all the Moroccan classic dishes to a good standard in lovely surroundings. It is an especially good choice if you are not staying in a riad as it is an opportunity to experience life in a Moroccan courtyard. The building itself is stunning. On arrival you will be offered the chance to have a wander around the upper floors and take photo. When you go back downstairs you can wash your hands in rosewater and will be seated. The food arrives in truly vast amounts. We have enormous appetites but the "medium" option was too much even for us to finish. So you may want to consider choosing the "petite" dinner then sample each other's dishes. Or just splurge! If you fear finding the restaurant yourself in the streets of the medina, you can arrange for a dramatic gentleman to meet you at the nearest gate into the old town. He will also lead you back out when it's time to leave.

“Has Lost None Of Its Charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

A real treat. We first ate here ten years ago. A decade later it has lost none of its charm. The petit menu was more than enough. The sevice is simply first class.

“A Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

We were just out wandering, looking for something to eat, when we came across a sign to Ksar Es Saoussan. We had come across it on Tripadvisor and had decided to eat there but as often happened to us in our meanderings through the souk we came across it unexpectedly. What a find. We were led down a narrow alley into this absolutely divine palace. The staff were delightful-unobtrusive but there when you needed them. We had the small fixed menu and could not do it justice. The food was beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. I really cannot fault this place.

“Not worth the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013 via mobile

We visited this restaurant because of some of the good reviews on here, we wish that we hadn't bothered.
It's a beautiful inside & the staff we're friendly but it just a tourist trap. We had the smallest set menu which cost 700 Dirham in total (about £55.00) it certainly wasn't worth the money.
All the alcohol that was included tasted really watered down. The meat dishes were fatty & the slarters were just like cold slop dosh!
It's difficult to find & not worth it once you get there which is a real shame.
