We stayed at Riad Le Coq Fou for three nights and would highly recommend it. We received a warm welcome and regulation mint tea on arrival as well as help with our bags. Our room and the Riad overall were clean, attractive and simply decorated. We shared two rooms with an adjoining bathroom, all of which looked out on the pretty internal tiled courtyard. The rooftop was a fantastic spot for taking in the sunshine, relaxing after a a day of exploring whilst taking in the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. Breakfast served on the rooftop terrace was delicious with homemade pancakes, fresh fruit, fresh bread, freshly squeezed juices, coffee, homemade jams and cakes. The Riad was inside the city walls and only a short walk from the main square and souks. The staff were friendly and helpful providing us with maps, recommendations and top tips on making the most of our few days. I won't forget stepping through the beautiful doorway into the pretty, quiet and relaxed environment this Riad brings - a little gem!

I really enjoyed this Riad in the middle of the Medina. Very cozy and pleasant, it is a nice confort zone from the hussle and bussle of the city. Rooms are nice and service is good and friendly. Excellent also for taking your children. I would go again.

Centrally located for souk and main square and one can arrive very close with a taxi. Staff are very helpful (they helped us bring our bags from one riad to another and accompanied us to various place without hesitation) and kind and the breakfast is delicious!. Terrace for breakfast is lovely with nice views and beautiful plants and flowers. Rooms are simply decorated but clean and spacious. Central courtyard is small but has beautiful plants and a comfortable seating area. Overall it is Very good value. Also the Coq Berber next door, owned by same person, is also great and more upscale rooms are available for a slightly higher price.

While it is a little bit of a walk (less than 10 minutes) to Djemma el Fna, the staff drew us a very clear map on how to get there (a child could have followed this map!). And the plus side of not being right in the center of it all was that it was much quieter. The accommodations were very Moroccan and comfortable and the staff was so nice and helpful - they really went above and beyond their duty. We were greeted with Moroccan tea and the staff even assisted us in the morning to the taxi with our luggage and helped us deal with the pricing of the taxi so we weren't ripped off. This was a complete oasis in every way and I can't wait to return.

We stayed at the riad Le Coq Fou at the end of April and we loved it. We were a group of friends and families and we were divided between Le coq Fou and Le coq Berbere, a twin riad connected one another with charming passages through the terraces, from where you can appreciate the roofs and minarets of Marrakech. These two riads represent an oasis of peace and tranquillity in the heart of the Medina, few steps away from the main attractions in town. The rooms are very cosy and comfortable, there are very nice public areas
and you will have an excellent breakfast and, on request, dinner, served on the marvelous terraces.
All the personnel are very kind toward the guests and make your vacation a special one. Besides, I feel the need to make a special mention to Abderrahim (Abdul), our driver and guide through an unforgettable trip of 6 days to the south till the dunes of Merzouga.
First of all an he is an excellent and safe driver (and along the roads in Morocco you entrust the lives of your famiiars in the driver's hands), then he is completely affordable, discreet and very nice to talk to in one of the many languages he manages (Italian, French, English, Spanish). If you want to travel around Marrakech and Morocco and you don't want to do it by yourself, Abdul is the perfect choice. Have a nice trip

Le Coq Fou is located about an 8 to 10 minute walk from the Jemaa el-Fnaa (if you don't get lost) and the souks are a bit closer. It is also just a couple of minutes walk from a car-accesible area so that you don't have to wander too far with all of your luggage.

A driver arranged by the hotel picked us up from the airport and the manager met us in the "parking area" and walked us to the Riad. The manager walked us through some maps and let us know what routes to take to get to various points of interest (we still got lost on our first trip to the square, but it certainly wasn't his fault). He also went in to quite a bit of detail about some of the better restaurants around. He then took us to the different rooms.

When we got back later that night, the night manager greeted us and asked if we needed anything. We asked if there was anywhere we could get a bottle of wine. He let us know that the stores were all closed at that point but said he may be able to find one. He went out for about 5-10 minutes and came back with a nice bottle of local wine for us and served it to us in the rooftop lounge. Greatly appreciated.

The same person (I believe his name was Youssef) was there and served us breakfast in the morning and generally took care of us throughout the trip. He was extremely nice and had a great sense of humor. It is the only place I have stayed in Marrakech so I don't have anything to compare it to, but based on our experience I would certainly recommend it.
One note: Wifi is in the common area downstairs and only reaches the top floors intermittently.

Room Tip: I stayed in the rooftop room and loved it. Other members of my group were on the first and second fl...

The riad was beautiful, the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. This riad was a perfect juxtaposition to the hustle and bustle of the streets of Marakesh, it was oasis like. The rooms were sized well, the bed was comfortable, and the rooms were clean. My travel companion stated that her toilet was not clean upon arrival, but I had no concerns. The breakfast was served on any of three balconies and included cake, breads, yogurt, coffee/tea and juice. The staff went above and beyond our needs and expectations, for example finding a bottle of wine for us after we came home one evening and letting us leave our luggage for about 9 hours after we checked out for free.
